Owen Wilson speaks in exclusive MySpace interview

Owen Wilson is finally speaking out but don't get too excited, because the actor probably isn't discussing what you think.

While this is Owen's first interview after his attempted suicide, he is sitting down with his Darjeeling Limited director Wes Anderson for MySpace’s Artist on Artist series.

MySpace spliced together a nice interview with Wilson and another interview with Anderson to make it look like the two sat down together for the interview.  In reality, Wes was in New York for his part of the interview while Owen was in California.

Owen Wilson shows off scars, recovering from suicide attempt

The New York Post published these photos on Saturday after fans and paparazzi caught Owen Wilson out and about in Los Angeles this week.

This is Owen's first appearance since being released from the hospital following his suicide attempt.

Wilson nodded to photographers as they took pictures and wished him well in his recovery.

While Owen looked happy, relaxed and toned, the red slash across his arm reminds us of a troubled Wilson who recently tried to take his own life.

Despite everything, friends say Owen is ignoring advice to check into a rehab facility.

“(Owen) doesn’t think he really has a problem,” an insider said.

Instead of rehab, we're told Wilson is planning a cross country road trip with a sober sponsor.  Rehab on the go, if you will.

Owen Wilson at home and underwatch following suicide attempt

Owen Wilson was released from the hospital over the weekend after he evidently tried to kill himself one week earlier.

PEOPLE is reporting that Owen will continue to recover outside the hospital, but the actor is under the close watch of friends and family.

"Owen is in bad mental shape but said he is thankful to be alive," says a source close to the actor, who had returned to his Santa Monica home on Saturday. "He knows he came close to ending his life, and he is happy that he was saved from himself. He is basically at home with people watching him 24/7."

Wilson has put all projects on hold including promotions of his new film The Darjeeling Limited at the Venice Film Festival this week.  He also dropped out of his upcoming project with Ben Stiller.

Rumor has it Owen is recovering at the home of good friend Woody Harrelson.

Owen Wilson drops out of film project

After trying to kill himself over the weekend, Owen Wilson has dropped out of his latest project.

Variety is reporting that Wilson has dropped out of 'Tropic Thunder,' an ensemble comedy in which Owen had a small supporting role.

Wilson's buddy and 'Zoolander' co-star Ben Stiller is producing, directing and starring in the film which is currently taping in Hawaii.

According to Variety, the decision to release Owen from the project was apparently mutual between both he and Stiller.

911 report confirms Owen Wilson suicide claims

Police phone records support claims that actor Owen Wilson tried to kill himself over the weekend.  According to 911 call records show that cops were responding to an "attempted suicide" when they were called to Wilson's house on Sunday night.

The phone log does not indicate who made the call, but lists "attempt suicide" as the reason for the 911 call.

According to source quoted by the New York Post,  Owen was found bloody and dazed after trying to commit suicide by overdosing on pills and slitting his wrist after an argument with a close friend.

Officials at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center said on Monday that Wilson was in "good condition."  His family including famous brothers Luke and Andrew Wilson have been spotted at the hospital visiting Owen.

Owen Wilson's battle with pills

No one has officially confirmed that Owen Wilson was hospitalized on Sunday due to an attempted overdose, but Star magazine seems convinced that the actor tried to take his own life.

In addition, Star also says they have a source that has uncovered Wilson's previous battles with a pill addiciton.

"Owen was very dedicated to AA and to living a clean life," the source explains. "I knew him when he was sober and to see him slip back into his disease was tough. We attended AA meeting at the Café Tropical in Silver Lake twice a week for several years. However, once Owen's career took off he put his sobriety and AA on the back burner. He started coming less and less to meetings. When I would see him I would ask him how he was doing, he would act like everything was fine, but I could tell he was struggling with alcohol and drugs, mainly prescription pills. He looked haggard and his face looked puffy. In January of 2006, he stopped coming to meetings all together."

"I ran into him in October of 2006 at an art opening in West Hollywood and he completely avoided me," the source goes on to say. "Even though it seems like Owen should be on top of the world with all of his fame and money, this obviously doesn't buy inner peace. Untreated alcoholism and drug abuse manifests into depression, anger, rage, isolation, suicide attempts and suicide. This is a deadly disease that if left untreated only gets worse, not better with time."

The magazine is also reporting that this isn't the first time Owen has been in the hospital for the same thing.  They say his brother, Andrew, had to take him to L.A.'s Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in June.

Did Owen Wilson try to kill himself?

Here's what we can confirm:  Owen Wilson was hospitalized on Sunday in Santa Monica.    The Police released this statement on Monday.

“On Sunday Aug. 26, 2007 at 12:10 PM, officers from the Santa Monica Police Department responded to a medical assistance call from the Santa Monica Fire Department at the 900 block of 23rd Street. The person was transported to a local hospital where they are being treated.”

The National Enquirer and Star magazine are reporting that cut his left wrist and took an determined amount of pills to attempt suicide attempt.

The ambulance chasers over at Extra say they spoke with a publicist for Cedars-Sinai Medical Center who confirmed who confirmed that Owen was at the hospital on Monday and was in "good condition."

This doesn't sound like a stomach bug or anything, because PEOPLE is reporting that Owen's parents and brothers  Andrew and Luke Wilson were spotted at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center on Sunday night.

The National Ledger has some sort of confusing astrology report that supposedly explains it all, but I didn't understand a word it said.  Good luck if you decide to take a stab at it.  (no pun intended)

Owen's alleged suicide could turn out to be great publicity.  He just announced two new film projects.

Get well Owen!
