Abercrombie & Fitch closes two NYC stores over bed bug infestation

Trendy clothing retailer Abercrombie & Fitch has closed two stores in Manhattan after finding out they had been invaded by bed bugs.

The Hollister store in Soho was the first to shut their doors, and then on Friday A&F closed the Abercrombie & Fitch at South Street seaport after finding out that store was also infested with bed bugs.

Abercrombie’s Flagship store on Fifth Avenue, however, does not seem to be affected.

“It appears focused in lower Manhattan,” though the company is still investigating the issue by “conducting its own testing and analysis,” Abercrombie spokesperson Eric Cerny said.

New York has a serious bed bug problem especially in reduced rate hotels and on college campuses.

According to Bnet.com, the Hollister store in Soho was crawling with bed bugs that the management ignored for over a month.

Each of the two stores currently closed are expected to reopen within two days of closing.
