Long-time readers know that my online career began as a blogger for QueerPlanet (now GenerationQ), so naturally I tend to defend bloggers.  However, this is one case where I can't.

Celebrity blogger, Perez Hilton, recently tweeted a photo of Miley Cyrus taken while she wasn't wearing any panties.  That's right, a grown man publicly released a photo of a 17-year-old girl on the internet.  

I've seen "To Catch a Predator", so I know this is illegal.  Perez Hilton (born Mario Lavenderia) should be charged and receive jail time for his actions.  This gives a bad name to gay men and the online editorial community.  

The photo has been taken down, and some are questioning whether it was really Miley Cyrus or not.  Regardless, Perez should be punished.  If this photo isn't the one, this just proves that he will stop at nothing as he believes he is above the law.  I challenge the po-po to prove him wrong!

The Dancing with the Stars elimination was a dramatic one on Tuesday (April 20) as the rumored rivals Pamela Anderson and Kate Gosselin found themselves at the bottom of the leaderboard.

In the end, Kate Gosselin got the boot.  The reality super-mom broke out in tears telling fans: "thank you for believing in me, probably more than I believed in myself."  Gosselin also apologized for being a "cry baby."

This blows some theories all to hell for the Dancing with the Stars conspiracy theorists who believe the show is predetermined and planned to use a Dancing victory for Kate to support their findings.

A lot of people have been telling me that they don't understand what the big deal about President Barack Obama issuing an executive memorandum to allow gay couples visitation rights in hospitals.  The reason this is such a big deal is due to stories like this one.

It isn't a happy story, but it's true and hopefully behind us now.  Carl and Harold were a happy old gay couple in California when suddenly due to a freak accident, they were separated and stripped off all their joint possessions.

Now that President Obama has decided to let the patients themselves decide who will get the visitation rights when they're hospitalized, this shouldn't be a problem any more!

If the rumors are true, that's Kim Kardashian's new man.  Say hello to Real Madrid soccer star, Cristiano Ronaldo.  

Clearly Kim likes her athletes having evidently moved on to a soccer stud after finally leaving off-again-on-again footballer boyfriend Reggie Bush.

Ronaldo was evidently caught making out with Kardashian this week in Madrid while the two lunched together.  A Cristiano-Kim love affair wouldn't be too shocking.  Gorgeous people eventually migrate together.

President Bill Clinton and New York Mayor Mike Bloomberg are both talking about the tea party movement, but each has very differing opinions.

Clinton says he is worried the tea party movement is a bit too extreme and might promote the same type of violence that led to the Oklahoma City bombings in 1995.

"Before the bombing occurred, there was a sort of fever in America," Clinton said at a symposium commemorating the 15th anniversary of the bombing. "Meanwhile, the fabric of American life had been unraveling. More and more people who had a hard time figuring out where they fit in, it is true that we see some of that today."

Bloomberg on the other hand isn't so afraid of the tea party movement.

"It's a bunch of people getting involved in government, in politics, that is good for the country," he said Friday of the growing anti-establishment movement.

"It stirs the pot up," he said.

The tea party is a conservative right-wing movement for smaller government and active protesting.  They are essentially led by former Republican Vice-Presidential nominee, Sarah Palin.

President Barack Obama made a major step forward for the LGBT community on Thursday night when he issued a presidential memorandum ordering hospitals to allow patients to say who gets visitation rights and who can make medical decisions.

This will, for the first time, allow gay and lesbian couples to make decisions for their partners who may not be able to do so.

"Every day, all across America, patients are denied the kindnesses and caring of a loved one at their sides...Often, a widow or widower with no children is denied the support and comfort of a good friend. Members of religious orders are sometimes unable to choose someone other than an immediate family member to visit them and make medical decisions," President Obama wrote.

"Also uniquely affected are gay and lesbian Americans who are often barred from the bedsides of the partners with whom they may have spent decades of their lives -- unable to be there for the person they love, and unable to act as a legal surrogate if their partner is incapacitated."

The memo tells Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius to draft rules requiring hospitals that receive Medicare and Medicaid payments, "respect the rights of patients to designate visitors...You should also provide that participating hospitals may not deny visitation privileges on the basis of race, color, national origin, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, or disability."

During his bid for the White House, President Obama made a lot of promises to the LGBT community.  While he hasn't moved as quickly as many had hoped, Thursday night's action was a major step in the right direction.

Cardinal Tarcisio Bertone, who also serves as the Vatican's Secretary of State, is a stupid bitch.  He is blaming homosexuality for child abuse.

"Many psychologists, many psychiatrists have demonstrated that there is no relationship between celibacy and pedophilia but many others have demonstrated, I was told recently, that there is a relationship between homosexuality and pedophilia," he said.

Bertone is now getting backlash from gay groups, but I seriously doubt he cares.  This is taking the spotlight off the Catholic Church's priests who molest young children.

EDITORIAL

It's no secret that I think Hillary Rodham Clinton is one of the most extraordinary leaders of our time.  During her bid for the presidency, I not only voted for her; but also endorsed her and actively campaigned for her.  Some seem to believe that it was harder on me the day that Clinton finally withdrew from the race than it was on her.

However, I believe that everything happens for a reason.  Maybe Hillary Clinton was meant to be a Supreme Court Justice instead.  President Barack Obama has the chance to make that happen as Justice John Paul Stevens has announced he'll be retiring from the bench this summer.

Clinton holds the most impressive resume, and she might be welcomed by Republicans during confirmation hearings.

As the First Lady of Arkansas and later the United States, Hillary was very active in politics the entire time.  She supported her husband, Bill Clinton, on all of his endeavors.  She even stood by his side as he had an extramarital affair, lied about it and got impeached.

Later Mrs. Clinton did what few others have successfully accomplished by moving to New York, winning over voters and heading to the US Senate.  Not only did Hillary win the election, but she also fit in as a New Yorker.  Within a few months of her first term, most New Yorkers forgot that the Clinton's weren't born and raised in the Empire State.  She did exactly what a junior Senator needed to do to earn the respect of her colleagues and her constituents.

As a presidential candidate, Hillary shattered that infamous "glass ceiling" coming closer to the Oval Office than any other woman probably ever has.  We all knew that whoever won the Democratic nomination would win the White House.

Now, as Secretary of State, Clinton has earned the respect of both political parties and leaders world-wide.

Does anyone else have such a resume?  I think not.  It is time for the President to make his smartest move yet.  Barack Obama needs to appoint Hillary Clinton to the United States Supreme Court.

All of the regular readers and GaySocialites know that I'm generally unlucky in love. 

I date a lot, but I am very non-committal.  Unlike most gay guys and lesbians, I don't like to go on a single date that lasts for weeks, months and sometimes years.  I believe that's why it seems that so many LGBT relationships end so early.

My preference is to date someone for several months before dating exclusively and frequent sleepovers won't happen within the first year.  I even think it is okay for the person that I'm dating and I to see other people until we decide to commit.  

This doesn't always go over well.  I've been called a polygamist so many times that my friends call me a polygy-gay.  

As I found myself single again, I'm turning to the experts on love to help me find my way.   Since I'm not a millionaire, Patti Stanger wants nothing to do with me.  Her right hand man, however, is willing to give some advice. 

The season of "Millionaire Matchmaker" winds up next week, so to say good-bye, Destin Jude Pfaff is giving me love advice! 

I'm very excited!  According to Destin's bio on the Bravo website:

"Upon moving to Los Angeles to pursue a career in screenwriting and filmmaking, Destin stumbled into a position as Office Manager of the Millionaire's Club through Craig's List. A Fort Worth Texas theater that originally said it planned to stage a play about a gay 'Christ-like' character now says they have changed their mind.

Artes de la Rosa at the Rose Marine Theater in Fort Worth says they have pulled the plug on a play written by Tarleton State University student John Jorden Otte in which the main character depicts a gay character who leads a christ-like life.

The theater left the following comments on their own website following angry calls and e-mails from community members:

“The decision was reached by the Board of Directors of Artes de la Rosa to withdraw the offer of the venue, The Rose Marine Theater, which had hoped to host the 4 theatre student directors from Tarleton State University in their continued Academic Directing Theatre Projects. The Rose Marine Theater will not be hosting these 4 students and their casts at any time in the future. We appreciate the public response on both sides of this debated issue,” the posting said.

The theater's executive director Adam Adolfo told local media that he was concerned about loosing money and patrons if he went forward with the gay play.

A high school student in Tennessee was sent home from school for wearing a "gay" t-shirt, and his mother is pissed!

Julie Gordon said her 15-year-old son's freedom of speech and expression was violated when administrators at Greenbrier High School told him to go home and remove a t-shirt that read: "I Heart Lady Gay Gay."  Go mom!

Her son, Cole Golforth, says he has been openly gay in school for a while and it has never been a problem before.  School officials say they were acting in the best interest of the school.  

"We've had a few disruptions the last few days, and we thought the slogan on that shirt would continue to escalate those incidents that had occurred," said Danny Weeks, assistant director of the school board.

The school said Gordon is welcome to appeal the dress code.

Chris Kanyon (whose biological name is Chris Klucsaritas), an openly gay wrestler, was found dead at his home in Queens on Friday.  He was 40 years old.

According to reports, Kanyon died of an intentional overdose of prescription pills.  Nothing, however, is official until the coroner releases their report.  

Kanyon has tried to take his own life in the past.  In 2003, he was diagnosed with bipolar disorder after trying to commit suicide.  As recently as last week, he was also evidently struggling with depression and talking about ending his own life.

After graduating from the University of Buffalo and working as a physical therapist, Kanyon left that field to become a professional wrestler in 1992. He worked for both World Championship Wrestling and World Wrestling Entertainment (then known as World Wrestling Federation.)

When he came out to OutSports in 2006, he did so by saying that the WWE fired him because he was gay.

John McHugh, the secretary of the US Army, has backtracked on a statement he made about discharging gay soldiers who revealed to him that they were gay last week.

McHugh said last week that there was a moritorium on dismissing gays from the military at this time, but now he has corrected himself.  He did, however, say he was unable to take disciplinary action against three soldiers who he said admitted to him that they were gay, a clear violation of the "don't ask, don't tell" policy.

"I am unable to identify these soldiers and I am not in a position to formally pursue the matter," McHugh, a former Republican congressman, said in a statement.

This public apology from McHugh adds to the confusion currently circulating around the military's ban on gay service members.  While most military leaders seem to support the repeal of "Don't Ask, Don't Tell", it still has be approved by Congress.

An Earthquake struck near Mexicali, Mexico on Sunday evening killing at least one person.  Damage reports were still coming in on Sunday night, but the quake is said to have rattled most of northern Mexico and southern California.  Residents in Los Angeles say the quake shook them for about a minute.

The quake measured a 7.2 and some aftershocks even went over 5.0 on the Rictor Scale.

The earthquake was was centered about 108 miles east of Tijuana, Mexico and 10 miles deep below the surface. 

There are some reports of somewhat significant damage near the California/ Mexico border.  Information is still being gathered to get an accurate report of the effects of the quake.

NIGHTLIFE

On Saturday night, my friend and I decided to swing by Club Rush in NYC for the weekly Drama party to see what all this talk of an Easter Egg Hunt was really about. 

We easily learned that it meant the staff hid eggs throughout the club, and the twinks found them.  It was that simple.  Some lucky egg hunters won cash, some got free tanning and others got pretty little plastic eggs.

Recording artist Matisse was also in the house celebrating her new single "Better Than Her."  Steve Sidewalk kept the crowd dancing to pop music all night and reminded us at least 25 times that Ricky Martin is gay.  Steve is sooo excited to have confirmation, needless to say!

The room was pretty packed for the entire time that I was there.  The guys at BoiParty.com do a great job of offering weekly themed parties such as this week's Easter Egg Hunt and the reinvention of the party under the name "Drama Saturdays."

Whether you're young or you're old, if you want to dance like you're 18; then you need a little Drama!

Seen: Matisse, Sidewalk, Morgan McLean, Jonathan Ladee, Wolly, Daniel Cota, John Hernandez, Oh my Josh and lots of college boys.

On Tuesday night, I had the pleasure of working with Scotty Rox, Yuhua Hamasaki, Vlad, Todd Doncourt and Nicho Menedez on the opening night of Trashed at Elevate. 

The crowd was adorable and the dancers were gorgeous!  The name fits, because we all got trashed by the end of the night.  With $3 beers, $2 shots and no cover charge; there's no question why.  The shot menu is really cute with 15 different shots for only a couple of bucks.  There's even one named after me, "the Red Headed Slut!" This party is now weekly, so swing by and slurp on one this Tuesday.

FROM THE EDITOR

It is with a very bittersweet news that I write you this letter from the editor, and that's because it will be my last posting here at GaySocialites.com.

Effective immediately, GaySocialites.com is now under the ownership of Light Ministries.  While the new organization that will be running the site is religion-based, they have assured us they will keep the site online as an outlet for members of the LGBT community from across the world.

I have really enjoyed establishing this site, and I've made some great friends and contacts.  Since I signed a confidential contract with Light Ministries, I can't tell you much.  However, it will be a while before you see me online as I am required to delete my social networking sites and refrain from writing online for at least 3 years.

Thank you all for everything, and thank you to the gullible souls who actually believed this crap.  Happy April Fool's Day!  We've been observing Spring Break this week and working on a limited schedule.  We'll be back in the full swing of things on Monday (as gay as can be, sans the religion)!

New York City publicist Charles Winters announced this week that he has nearly doubled the size of his business with a new impressive list of clientele.

Winters says he has signed three new clients over the past week to add to his lengthy existing list.  The new clients added are a Manhattan nightclub called Elevate, an Upper East Side pet boutique named Bark Place and former MTV Real World star turned modeling fitness guru Scott Herman.

"We're excited to be growing our roster so rapidly," Winters said.  "We've got a great group for fresh young stars and businesses who will all soon be household names."

He currently represents such names as Ken Hunt, Steel Gym, Dina Marie, King Ralphy, Rush Nightclub and HK Lounge.

Charles is also the Editorial Director and CEO of GaySocialites.com, a company he co-founded in 2005.

Changes may be coming to the military's ban on gays quicker than we thought.  Evidently Defense Secretary Robert Gates will announce changes to "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" before the policy can even be repealed.

"I think he is prepared to offer a way ahead on that subject this week. So stay tuned," said Pentagon press secretary Geoff Morrell.

"Hopefully you'll be seeing him later this week and (he) can address the changes that he is going to be making."

Gates, who started his term under President George W. Bush, ordered a review of the policy that was completed earlier this month.  He is expected to announce a more "humane" enforcement plan that might do such things as eliminate punishment for gays in the military who are "outted" by other members.

WE TOLD YOU SO...

Everyone is talking about a story we first broke back in December. Kim Zolciak is evidently now ready to take her lesbian love affair with DJ Tracy Young into the limelight.

Us Magazine is reporting that Zolciak showed up with Young at the Blacks' Annual Gala in Miami Beach on Saturday.  The magazine says they have been dating about three months.  

Back in December, when Kim was performing at Splash, she was spotted with DJ Tracy Young in the VIP room.  On stage, Zolciak joked that she might be dating another woman.

However, on a recent episode of "What What Happens", Andy Cohen asked Kim if she was dating women to which she said she was not.

According to the folks at Us, Tracy left her long-time girlfriend to be with Kim.

CHARLES ON...

No matter how much a homo tries to convince me otherwise, Valentine's Day is a straight person's "holiday".  While I had a delightful Valentine's Day with my guy of interest, I realized that the gays haven't exactly realized how to work themselves into Valentine's Day.

Sure all of the gay bars throw red and white clad V-Day themed parties, but that isn't the same.  I'm talking about expensive dinners, dancing, candy and roses.  Where do we fit into all that?

This Valentine's Day, my date did exactly what I would have hoped.  For the most part, we took low-key options like dinner and games at Dave & Busters followed by an interesting all dessert bar that's a bit off the beaten path.  

As two men on a date, I didn't feel like we were even noticed by the straight people (much to my surprise!)  Instead, it was the other gay couples that felt the need to single us out with a blatant point (probably accompanied by a statement like "look more gays") or an awkward wave (like we should recognize them from our gay directories or something).  I found it to be a bit annoying and quite embarrassing.

Meanwhile, the breeders were everywhere!  The straights were blocking sidewalks (because they have to hold hands everywhere they go), making out sporatically (because that can't wait until they're back home) and oggling into each other's eyes as they scarf down chocolate mousse and orange slices (that was probably in part because the music inside the restaurant was way too loud for casual conversation).

So should, we, as gay men, seize the opportunity to make out in public and get lost in each other's eyes once every year or should we say no to Valentine's Day the same way that the straights have to marriage equality.

Despite the fact Valentine's Day is represented by a fairy in a diaper complete with a bow and arrow  (and normally a lisp), I still don't feel comfortable doing those lovey dovey things for everyone to see on February 14th.  I don't wanna hold you homos back though, if you wanna be as obnoxious as the straight people that's fine with me.  Knock yourself out and a hit a few others while you're at it!

IN CASE YOU MISSED IT...

TV personality Wendy Williams broke down in tears on her show Monday morning as Whoopi Goldberg joined her as a guest.  It looks like somone had a piece of humble pie!

Whoopi's appearance on the "Wendy Williams Show" was a real classy move due to the rigid past bewteen the two daytime chat hosts.

Before moving to television, Wendy was a shock jock on the radio who was hired and fired from more stations that Don Imus and Howard Stern combined.  Evidently along the way, Goldberg was one of Williams' regular targets.

Wendy took some pretty low blows at Whoopi and her family over the years by saying that "The View" moderator is ugly, looks like a monkey and uses drug. Williams also said that Goldberg's daughter, Alex, had a cocaine addiction. 

During her appearance, as you can see in the video above, Whoopi even tells Wendy that her daughter is upset with her for coming on the show.  As Wendy cried like a baby, she publicly and personally apologize to Whoopi with two words, "I'm sorry" to which Goldberg replied with: "It's alright baby." Wendy did, however, try to justify her actions by saying she had to do a lot of things that she "wasn't proud of" to get her own daytime talk show. Whoopi reminded her that she didn't have to do everything she did!

I don't always agree with everything she says, but you've got to admire Whoopi.  She's a real class act.

I HEARD...

I HEARD... ABC is secretly auditioning hosts for "The View."  On Monday, Barbara Walters hyped a big announcement, but instead of saying that someone was leaving or coming from "The View" Walters said she will no longer host a "Barbara Walters Special" prior to the Oscars.

My inside source at ABC says it is evident that auditions are taking definitely taking place and names like Megan McCain, Kate Gosselin and Paula Dean have all been tossed around as possible candidates.  The question is... what position is open?

I also HEARD... that inside the halls of ABC the buzz is that Walters might be making an exit from the show herself.

IN CASE YOU MISSED IT

Regis and Joy Philbin stopped by The Late Show with David Letterman on Thursday night, and at first I was wondering why Joy was there.  It's clear, however, that Regis can't be left alone anymore.

It was clear that Regis had the intention of giving Letterman hell over his Super Bowl commercial with Oprah Winfrey and Jay Leno.  He failed miserably at his own accord.  Every time Regis tried to deliver the punch line, he referred to Jay as Dave.  Joy pointed out that Regis is losing it.

Later, Letterman basically hits on Joy and invites himself over for dinner.  It's hilarious.  You have to watch the video above.

AFTERNOON DELIGHT

What have I been doing for the last 25 minutes of my life?  Probably the same thing you will be doing for the next 25 minutes of yours... watching Scott Herman working out.

Today's afternoon delight is one of the most beautiful men on earth, Scott Herman.  Thanks to this hunk, we have our first video edition of the afternoon delight.

DOUCHE BAG ALERT

We've got a breaking douche bag alert out of New York.  State Senator and convicted girlfriend abuser, Hiram Monserrate, refuses to take "get out" for an answer.

On Tuesday, the New York State Senate voted to boot Monserrate out of office.  By an overwhelming vote of 53 to 8, Hiram's colleagues told him to hit the road misdemeanor assault against his girlfriend brought shame on the chamber.

We have known that Monserrate was a douche bag for a while.  Not only because he beat his girlfriend, but he was the ring leader in the New State Senate stalemate that could have ruined the chances of marriage equality in New York.

I say good-bye to this douche bag.  If they can get him to go.  Hiram wants to stay so badly that he is appealing.  Who would want to show up to work every day knowing that your co-workers hate you in 53 to 8 ration?  Not me!

WHITE TRASH OF THE WEEK (WTOTW)

The CBS “Late Late Shows” Craig Ferguson has signed up for Twitter and is already making it splash.  It's only Tuesday, and Craig Ferguson is already our White Trash of the Week (WTOTW).

After only having been a Tweeter for less than 12 hours, @CraigyFerg started dropping F-bombs all over the place.  That's white trash (WT) if I've ever seen it.  (You know I'm totally WT myself, so take a look;)

Talk about White Trash on the move!  I'm definitely following Craig Ferguson on Twitter from now on.  White trash has got to stick together.

She's back.  After blowing everyone away with her "Bad Romance" parody, Sherry Vine is back with her latest spoof.

This time the famed drag performer takes on Taylor Swift's "You Belong To Me" aptly titled "I Was So Off Key".

As I've said, Sherry Vine is setting herself up to become the drag version of Weird Al.  I love it!  Let's all jump on those coat tails and ride to stardom!

CBS may have banned an ad for gay dating, but a Motorola commercial that features Megan Fox got to include the gays.

The two homos in this commercial were clearly overly queeny and stereotypical, and if you ask me - more offensive than the originally banned ad.

Regardless, at least the straight people accept us enough to let us play their little Super Bowl advertising game.

I didn't watch the Super Bowl, and I'm still catching up on the ads.  If there are any "must sees" that I'm missing; send them my way!

I HEARD...

I HEARD... that the New York City Tight party at Amnesia on Sunday nights is DOA (dead on arrival)!  The club owners and unorganized promotions team tried a preview party a few weeks ago and officially launched the party this Sunday night.

I also HEARD... you can basically call this one a FLOP!  Dragging together some of the big names like Dina Marie, King Ralphy, Chris Ryan, Ricardo Studmuffin and the Mira Machine is always good.  However, it doesn't work if you can't keep the team happy.  Ricardo quit weeks ago, and there were rumors that Ralphy was pulling out all week.  Dina Marie withdrew her name from the line-up at the 11th hour on Sunday, and everyone thought Mira quit last week!

I also HEARD... there was no money to be made!  I'm not sure if anyone walked out of the room with any cash in their pockets.

I also HEARD... chances of any future Tight party seems slim.  It doesn't appear that anyone is willing to show their face in the room again!  Turn the lights out, the party's over!

This advertisement for the "Late Show with David Letterman" was probably my favorite Super Bowl commercial.

In 2007, Letterman was joined by Oprah Winfrey in a time when the two had a faux-feud on the airwaves.  To see Jay Leno show up in an ad for the competition is pop culture history in the making.

There is no love lost between Letterman and Leno.  Letterman, of course, was primed to replace Johnny Carson on "The Tonight Show" when Leno swooped in and took over.  I guess Letterman is probably the only person who knows how Conan O'Brien really feels.

To keep this Super Bowl ad a secret, Leno evidently disguised himself with a mustache to sneak into the Ed Sullivan Theatre where Letterman's show is taped.

GAY MARRIAGE

The judge is gay, the judge is gay!  LGBT advocates could have won their first victory as rumors that Chief U.S. District Judge Vaughn R. Walker, who is hearing the first federal case to decide if a gay marriage ban is illegal, is a homosexual.

So far, Proposition 8 opponents aren't commenting.

The San Francisco Chronicle ran a story on Sunday in which a source verified for the first time that Walker is gay.

“The biggest open secret in the landmark trial over same-sex marriage being heard in San Francisco is that the federal judge who will decide the case, Chief U.S. District Judge Vaughn Walker, is himself gay,” the paper wrote.

Evidently, the judge doesn't hide his sexuality.  The source, a friend of Walker, says he is basically open about it; but for obvious reasons keeps his personal life private.

This just makes the gay marriage ruling all the more interesting.

Neil Patrick Harris is everywhere.  Let's call him the super gay, shall we? NPH can even infiltrate the most testosterone driven event of the year and seem cool.

Harris actually showed up at the Super Bowl in character as his "How I Met Your Mother" character, Barney Stinson.  

Super gay was holding up a sign that read, "Call Barney Stinson at 1-877-987-6401".  The photo looks a little strange, so I'm not sure exactly where CBS is going with this.  It may even pop up in an episode of the hit show.

If you do 'call Barney Stinson', you'll get this recording:

"That, Lebron, is how you shoot a free throw. Hey, Barney Stinson speaking. A recording? No, this is really me! Anyway, glad you called 'cause you sound really special. Let's get to know each other. What are your hobbies? Oh my god, I like that too! Wow, I'm really feeling a connection here. You know, I never do this but what the heck. Let's meet up at MacLaren's Bar at oh, say, 3:45 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 12, 2016. I can't wait to meet you. I love you."

Talk about taking advantage of a good promotional opportunity!  CBS capitalized on this one.  Meanwhile, I'm falling in love with Neil Patrick Harris.

The live cams in the New Orleans French Quarter would have made you think it was Mardi Gras last night.  Instead, of course, football fans are celebrating the Saint's Super Bowl win on Sunday.

Thousands and thousands of people flooded Bourbon Street and there was an instant party with plenty of booze, beads and posters proclaiming their pride in their hometown team.  Cops even had to break-up the Super Bowl party the same way they put an end to Mardi Gras, with officers on horseback.

The Saints upset the Colts in Sundays big game.

If you missed all those French Quarter live cams after the SuperBowl, then you'll definitely want to tune in Tuesday, February 16th when the actual Mardi Gras celebrations are underway.  It's untelling what you might see!

IN CASE YOU MISSED IT...

In case you missed it, here is Carrie Underwood's performance at the Super Bowl on Sunday.  She sang the National Anthem before the game began.

Underwood is the stand-out winner of "American Idol" having taken the country music industry by storm.  Carrie has an amazing voice, and she was probably the perfect fit to sing the National Anthem.

Queen Latifah also performed as a part of the Super Bowl pre-game show.

The Saints went on to defeat the Colts in what is being called an "upset victory".

I'M JUST SAYING...

Pepsi has evidently opted out of Super Bowl advertising this year.  Instead, they're launching an interactive social networking type campaign that will interact with customers for months.

This has some advertising agencies and the networks who bid on the big game shaking in their shoes.  Could social networking be the end of Super Bowl advertising?

Social Networking Optimization is the new trend.  If companies, like Pepsi, can spend big bucks while building relationships with customers; who should they spend so much money making us laugh during boring football games?

I'm just saying...

CHARLES ON

 

Its no real secret that I suffer from severe anxiety.  Some times, I even get so stressed and anxious that I have seizures.  Part of controlling it for me has always been good medication, but I more importantly want to learn to control it on my own.

Even though I studied Life Coaching, and I am an expert at most of the goal setting modules; I can't seem to get my own anxiety under control.

During a recent meeting with one of my many therapists, she said I needed to think of something physical and fun to do in order to keep my mind in the right place. 

Normally, I workout with my trainer, Ken Hunt, at Steel Gym but since having hand surgery and undergoing a week long hospitalization; I can't hit the gym yet.

My therapist looked at me with that "shrink smirk" and said, "aren't you a nightlife personality?"  When I confirmed that I was, she replied with a simple, "just dance." When did doctors start quoting Lady Gaga?  I guess this one speaks fluent gay, because she was sooo right!

Dancing the stress away might sound cheesy, but it actually works!  This Wednesday I put it to the test as King Ralphy and I previewed our new "Cupcake" party at Red Velvet on the Lower East Side.  Dancing my anxiety out worked so well that I couldn't stop.  I even hit up a few places in the East Village afterwards including a cameo at Urge to see Logan Hardcore.  The hottest part of that party are the caliente muscle boys dancing on the bar!  I even let them do a little dancing with me (for a dollar, of course!)

Next time you're feeling a little stressed, just dance.  Close your office door.  Do it in the streets.  Come dance with me on Tuesdays at Vlada, Wednesdays at Red Velvet or Saturdays at Rush (all located in NYC).

Don't stress, just dance!

WHITE TRASH OF THE WEEK

This is probably as white trash (WT) as it comes!  An 11-year-old girl in the Northeast has given birth to a baby!

The names and location of those involved are not being released.  

"My daughter and baby are fine, and the baby is absolutely beautiful," said the 11-year-old girl’s mother.

We don't know much about how she got knocked up or what have you, but doctors say the girl's age could make recovery difficult.

Honestly, I don't know much about the female anatomy; but isn't 11 a bit early for even your period?

WEDNESDAY NIGHT ON TELEVISION PART 2

As we told you earlier, it's a big double-header night on Bravo as "Launch My Line" says good-bye and "Shear Genius" says hello.  

Here's what we can expect from the season premiere of "Shear Genius":

In the premiere episode, the twelve stylists arrive in Los Angeles where for their first challenge, the stylists must give unruly punk rockers a more polished look. The competition gets even more edgy during the elimination round when the contestants collaborate with a hot new swimwear company to create sophisticated styles for a risqué fashion show.  Which contestant will be the first to stand out and which will be sent home packing their scissors.

"Shear Genius" airs at 10/9c right after "Launch My Line" on Bravo.

It looks like the "Don't ask, don't tell" policy is all but lifted.  

The Pentagon's top uniformed officer, Adm. Mike Mullen, told the Senate Tuesday he's personally opposed to the policy that requires gays and lesbians to lie about their sexual orientation.

Colin Powell also shifted gears on Wednesday and said he now opposes "don't ask, don't tell" as well.

"In the almost 17 years since the ‘don’t ask, don’t tell’ legislation was passed, attitudes and circumstances have changed,” General Powell said in a statement issued by his office. He added: “I fully support the new approach presented to the Senate Armed Services Committee this week by Secretary of Defense Gates and Admiral Mullen.”

President Obama made the repeal one of his campaign platform issues.  Many expected it to have already been checked off his list.

Former "Boston Legal" star Justin Mentell has died as the result of an SUV accident near Madison, Wisconsin.

The 27-year-old actor was evidently driving an SUV that went down into an embankment hitting two trees and ultimately killing him. 

Investigators says Mentell was not wearing a safety belt, and neither drugs or alcohol seem to be involved.  Cops say they aren't sure how the accident started.  

Justin Mentell played Garrett Wells on "Boston Legal" from 2005 to 2006 and had a part in the 2009 Disney movie "G-Force".

I HEARD...

I HEARD... that after revealing (on the Wendy Williams Show) that one of the cuter cast members from "Jersey Show" is about to get naked for cash!

I ALSO HEARD… that after the whole disappointing shoot with Levi Johnston and his failure to go full frontal, Playgirl won't be doing anymore partial nudity.  Show it all or don't bother!

However, I ALSO HEARD... that this "Jersey Shore" cast member doesn't seem to mind showing it all off, because while he might not be gay - he loves to show off and be admired by both sexes.  I think that makes him tri-sexual!

I guess that means if this "Jersey Shore" boy plans to do Playgirl, then he's gonna let it all hang out!  Not like all those people who spent the summer down the shore with him hasn't seen it anyway!

In a recent interview with PBS host Tavis Smiley, Hillary Clinton admits that she'll likely only be Secretary of State for four years.  

Smiley asked Clinton if she would serve eight years to which she replied: "No, I really can't."

"The whole eight -- that would be very challenging," she said in the interview broadcast Wednesday on public television.

"It's a 24-7 job and I think at some point, I will be very happy to pass it on to someone else," Clinton said.

This could mean a few things for Hillary... 1) another run for President 2) personal time 3) she's being coy as usual and will do the job again if asked.  You know I love her more than any other politician, but that's the way she rolls!

TECHNOLOGY

All of the Apple users are sitting on the edge of their seats waiting on Steve Jobs and his fellow big wigs to introduce the new Apple tablet.  Naturally, I thought I'd bring you the live feed.

Jobs is expected to give us a mini-tour outlining the ins and outs of the new Apple Tablet including how much it will cost and what it will be called.

The apple folks are also expected to make some announcements about iTunes including the launch of iCloud, a program that will allow you to access your music from any computer online anywhere.

Our Afternoon Delight is a beautiful British boy named James.  He's an aspiring boxer, but an all-around athlete who says he also loves football and basketball.

James has had the "pretty boy" reputation, even in the ring, he says: "when I'm boxing I never get a bruise cut or scrape on my face." Cocky and gorgeous!  I love it.

STUPID BITCHES CLUB

GaySocialites.com is proud to announce that we've inducted Moscow mayor Yuri Luzhkov into the Stupid Bitches Club (SBC) for calling a gay parade "satanic".

"A gay parade... cannot be called anything but a Satanic act," Yury Luzhkov told an education conference, quoted by Interfax news agency. "We haven't permitted such a parade and we won't permit it in the future."

Parade organizers have never been granted permission to hold gay pride parades by the city authorities, leading to violent clashes with police and anti-gay protestors.

Luzhkov, being the stupid bitch that he is, called for gay marchers to be punished. "It's high time that we stop propagating nonsense discussions about human rights, and bring to bear on them the full force and justice of the law," he said.

What kind of world do we live in? This must stop!

Here we go again!  Another picture in our inbox that just happens to feature Taylor Lautner, who may or may not be gay, with Sean Fox Zastoupi, who may or may not be Taylor's boyfriend.

On the web right now, you've got a battle going between those who claim this whole Taylor/ Sean Fox relationship is made up.  And you've got those who are desperately trying to prove that Lautner is indeed gay and dating this dude. Some have even gone as far as photoshopping Sean Fox into pictures where he doesn't belong.

I recently received this picture from a Lautner fan who said they got their picture snapped with Sean and Taylor together.  What do you think? Is this a legit pic of Taylor and Sean Fox with a fan or another good photoshop job?

While the validity of this picture wouldn't prove much.  It would show that Taylor and Sean sure do hang out a lot!

Like many of the commenters have said on other stories related to this topic at GaySocialites.com, you'd think Taylor Lautner and his gorgeous teenaged body would be all over a much hotter gay than Sean Fox.  I'm just saying agreeing!

SOCIAL SCOOP

It might have been chilly outside on Saturday night, but our minds were all in the Fire Island Pines at Club Rush in Manhattan.  Let me explain.

On Saturday night, I decided to make a trip to twinky haven, Club Rush, and much to my surprise it wasn't your typical welcome back to school party!

After making my rounds saying hello to the sexy bartenders, shaking hands with the management and sharing a hug with DJ Steve Sidewalk; I had positioned myself in the corner to stare at my favorite go-go boy, John, while my clique danced nearby.

Much to my surprise, in through the door comes my good friend GaySocialite Erik Botcher and who is he traveling with the most talked about GaySocialite of the moment Seth Weissman.

In case you've been living in the closet, then you know that Weissman is a part of FIP Ventures... the new owners of Fire Island Pines.  Seth tells me they're closing in just six weeks!

I'm so excited I could spit!  I bet we can expect lots of changes on Fire Island this summer!

CHARLES ON...

I did something this week that I have never done before.  I had my first breakdown via social networking.  When you're running two companies and considered to be a work-a-holic by most, recovering from a week of work is one of the hardest things you'll ever have to do.  If anything else goes wrong on top of that, then you're basically screwed.  That's my story in a nutshell.

For the first time, I found myself tweeting all about it (and, of course, linking it to Facebook).  No one clearly knew how to act.  I received voicemails from people I haven't spoken to in years, and today I even got an e-mail from someone who sends me constant hate mail apologizing for being so rough on me.

Everyone seriously thought I had lost it, and I probably had.  After taking a few hours off work and soaking in some of ABC's Wednesday night line-up I managed to sleep for about 14 hours and wake up realizing that my problems here in New York City are nothing compared to what is going on in the rest of the world.

When you feel like you have the weight of the world on your shoulders, take a few moments and think about what others might be going through.  For me, it is normally the poor people living the hills of Tennessee.  This time it was the Haitian kids surviving for over a week without food and water underneath earthquake rubble.

The important thing to remember is that you can get through it.  Have faith in yourself.  Henry Ford said it best, "If you think you can do a thing or think you can't do a thing, you're right."

POLITICAL EDITORIAL

The legendary Ted Kennedy rolled in his grave over night as a Republican took his seat in the United States Senate.  I don't know how tthe people of Massachusetts supported a man like Ted Kennedy for as long as they did could vote for someone whose first move could be to destroy the main thing that Kennedy wanted to accomplish in his career - universal health care.

While I do believe that Kennedy himself is to blame a bit, and I'll explain that later.  However, the main reason the Democrats lost Kennedy's seat is because Barack Obama is our President.  I'm not ready to start screaming that "I told you so" just yet, but be warned that its coming.

Anyone who stopped by GaySocialites.com during the 2008 campaign know that I wholeheartedly supported Hillary Clinton and am still certain that she would have made a better President.  

All we heard from Obama during the primary was that the Clintons were too polarizing.  Much to my surprise the Kennedy's jumped on the Obama bandwagon.  Looking back, that probably wasn't the best decision they could have made.

At this point, so many people feel polarized by President Obama that his own words could be what make him a one term President.  How ironic?  The iconic speaker may just blurb out his own demise.

Ted Kennedy worked nearly his entire political career to try and create a universal health care system in America, and now the person who will soon hold his seat, Scott Brown,  could ruin the late humanitarian's dream,

Thank you Mr. President.  We appreciate all you're doing to keep your promise to repeal "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" too.

NIGHTLIFE

I HEARD... Eric von Kuersteriner has sold his portion of the Fire Island Pines.  What does that mean for our gay little island?  Who knows?

Kuersteriner owned a big slab of the Pines including the Pavilion (the isle's circuit party haven) and the Blue Whale (a  popular restaurant with out door space so the gays can be "seen.")  Kuersteiner bought all his holdings from longtime owner John Whyte about five years ago.

I also HEARD... the new Pines owners are young and relatively inexperienced.

I also HEARD... that the new Pines owners have already been in discussions with a well known New York City nightlife promoter (and a familiar face on Fire Island) to either jump in as a partner or run the whole operation.

Change is coming to Fire Island people.  I'm sure you can still fornicate in the bushes, so don't get too worried.

I just wonder if the sexy Fire Island staff in the photo were included in the deal.

STUPID BITCHES CLUB

It's a monumental day for the Stupid Bitches Club (SBC) as many as we induct our biggest member yet.

Today, GaySocialites.com will induct the fattest member ever into the SBC.

New Jersey's heavy weight  gov-to-be,.Chris Christie, is the latest inductee and definitely weighs more than any other member we've deemed a stupid bitch in the past.

It isn't Christie's fat ass that landed him the SBC, necessarily. It is his stance on gay marriage. Christie evidently recently said that marriage isn't a right at all. He says it is an honor bestowed on those who deserve it making a week comparison to obtaining a driver's license. So, basically it seems that NJ's Governor-elect believes we aren't privileged enough to tie the knot.

That's cool, because we think Mr. Christie is a fat ass, stupid bitch. He joins such members as Britney Spears, the New York Senators who voted against gay marriage, Sarah Palin and many others as members of the SBC..

Christie is scheduled to be sworn in as the Governor of New Jersey on Tuesday.

IN CASE YOU MISSED IT

While everyone is talking about the Golden Globes, many are still a buzz about Sandra Bullock's lip lock with Meryl Streep at the Critic's Choice Awards.

Bullock even addressed it on the red carpet for the Globes.

"It was mindblowing and unbelievable," Bullock said on the red carpet at the Golden Globes Awards.  "It ranks like in the top two moments in my life."

I wonder where her marriage to reality star Jesse James lands on that list.  On Sunday night, her marriage seemed to be the last thing on her mind. 

"She kind of wants me," Bullock joked. "I think we may do a movie together that has a little sapphic element to it. Everyone's been like, 'Let's get them together as lovers.' "

I'm not sure what Meryl Streep thinks about all of this.

WHITE TRASH OF THE WEEK

This year, we are determined to give credit where credit is due here at GaySocialites.com.  With that comes a whole new honor, the White Trash of the Week award.

You may not recognize the people in the picture above, but the person doing the sucking is a well-known New York City drag queen who goes under the name Epiphany.

Epiphany (while out of drag) earned the first White Trash of the Week honor for publicly performing oral sex on this go-go boy at a holiday party in Manhattan.   Even worse, our WTOTW let Jeff Eason from Wilson Models catch it on film! 

Some drag queens are kinda like clowns.  They put on a lot of make-up so they can do and say whatever they want.  I think in this case, Epiphany forgot that she is really Calen.

Congratulations Epiphany, you're blazing the trail for all of the White Trash bitches to do stupid things without thinking twice.  The great thing is that we're here to recognize you all for your efforts.

CHARLES ON...

For those of you who haven't heard, I was recently hospitalized to have surgery on my hand.  It wasn't too serious of a deal, but it wasn't exactly a fun experience either.

That's why I'm writing this special weekend edition of Charles On.

After a visit to my regular doctor ended up with orders to go to the hospital, I landed a nearly week-long visit at Bellvue in New York City. 

A fine hospital that dealt with my hostility, and as it turns out - Bellevue offers discounted health care to New Yorkers who aren't insured.

GAY MARRIAGE

New Hampshire is now the fifth state with marriage equality.

By the time the clock struck midnight, about 150 had people gathered in the state capital of Concord to witness the marriage of at least a dozen gay and lesbian couples.

New Hampshire state joins Massachusetts, Vermont, Connecticut and Iowa in permitting full marriage equality for same-sex couples.

The DC council just voted to legalize gay marriage in the nation's capital, and New Jersey's legislature is expected to vote on the issue as soon as Thursday.

FOLLOW UP REPORT

Conservative radio talk show host Rush Limbaugh has evidently been released from the Hawaii hospital where he has been recovering from chest pains for the past few days.  After running several tests, doctors evidently found "nothing wrong."

In a statement to his followers on his website, Limbaugh said he was "leaving Queens Hospital in Honolulu, feeling strong and rested."

Limbaugh also said that he would recover over the weekend and for part of the upcoming week. He did, however, promise to "be back on the radio with you sometime next week."

BI NOW GAY LATER PROGRAM

A new "Real World" debuted on Wednesday night on MTV, and this season DC is their home with what seems to be a political theme.  Instead of one hot gay or a crazy lesbian, the "Real World" is on the bi-now-gay-later program this season with two bi-sexual roommates in the house.

The bi guy is  Mike Manning, a self-proclaimed "star athlete, prom king, popular with all the girls".

That's him looking damn good in his NO H8 campaign picture. He's also extremely religious and sparked the first God-fight of the season on the premier episode of the season.

Emily Schromm is the bi gal.  She grew up as a part of a fundamentalist Christian cult, and now she's looking for greener pastures and a sampling of new things.

MTV did a good job of casting a beautiful group to live in DC, and there are clearly going to be political differences.  And, of course, there's a gorgeous muscular black guy.

Conservative radio talk show host Rush Limbaugh is evidently recovering in a Hawaiian hospital after suffering chest pains.

Local media in Hawaii is reporting that Limbaugh suffered a heart attack and is in serious condition.  However, his personal website said he was now "resting comfortably" in hospital in Honolulu.

Hawaii seems to be the place for politicos this holiday season.  President Barack Obama and Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi are both also evidently vacationing there separately with their families.

Rosie O'Donnell is single no longer!  After news recently broke that O'Donnell and her long-time partner Kelli Carpenter had split a long time ago, Rosie stepped out with a new woman earlier this week.

The new lady is Tracy Kachtick-Anders, a Texas-based artist and LGBTQ activist.  

Rosie and Tracy were spotted walking hand-in-hand on Miami Beach on Tuesday, People reports.

Both O'Donnell and Kachtick-Anders are active in LGBT parenting and adoption rights.

The coast seems to be clear in Time Square after a bomb scare on Wednesday that left authorities scrambling to evacuate the area and check out an abandoned van.

Patrol officers spotted the van around 11 a.m. on Broadway between 41st and 42nd Streets. Counter terrorism and bomb squad crews responded, but they eventually cleared the area when no explosives were found.

During the investigation, two high rise buildings that housed the Nasdaq and Conde Nast publishing company were partially evacuated.

DEVELOPING STORY

A 5.8 earthquake has rattled California and parts of Mexico.  The shaking could evidently be felt in San Diego, but there have been no reports or damage, death or injury.

The main quake was centered about 20 miles southeast of the Mexican border city of Mexicali and quickly followed by aftershocks and another quake that measured 4.9.

Julie Dutton, a geophysicist with the USGS, said the area is seismically active.

"It's definitely nothing that's unusual," she said.

The quake occurred 4.3 miles deep and is considered shallow. Shallower quakes have the potential to cause more damage than deeper ones, Dutton said.

Sharon Gless is set to star in a new play by Jane Prowse, based on the best-selling book “A Round-Heeled Woman: My Late-Life Adventures in Sex and Romance” by Jane Juska.

According to the New York Times:

It tells what happened when the author, a semi-retired high school English teacher, placed a personal ad in The New York Review of Books in 1999 that read: “Before I turn 67 — next March — I would like to have a lot of sex with a man I like. If you want to talk first, Trollope works for me.” The play is scheduled to begin previews on Jan. 5 at the Theater Artaud in San Francisco, where it will open on Jan. 16 and run through Feb. 7.

Gless, who starred in "Cagney and Lacey" and "Queer As Folk," also had the lead role in the recent film “Hannah Free,” about a lesbian love affair.

CHARLES ON...

At the end of each year, I go around asking DJ, musicians, radio personalities and nightlife professionals one question: "what was the song of the year?"

This year was no different, and the responses for 2009 were somewhat consistent to four song across the board from just about everyone I asked.  That's why I'm doing something a little different this year.

FOLLOW-UP REPORT

Even though the autopsy report for actress Brittany Murphy hasn't officially been released, notes written by an investigator from the L.A. County Coroner's office have evidently leaked. TMZ got their hands on a copy.

Here are some notes from what they saw:

• Brittany Murphy "had been complaining of shortness of breath and severe abdominal pain" for 7 to 10 days before she died.
• Murphy's mother and husband "attempted to revive the decedent by placing her in the shower and running the water." 
• "The decedent remained unresponsive and purged her stomach contents prior to the arrival of the paramedics."
• Brittany was "without signs of life" when paramedics arrived.
• "A check of the nightstands revealed large amounts of prescription medication in the decedent's name. Also noted were numerous empty prescription medication bottles in the decedent's husband's name, the decedent's mother's name and unidentified third party names."
• TMZ reports that the notes said: "the medications included Topamax (anti-seizure meds also to prevent migraines), Methylprednisolone (anti-inflammatory), Fluoxetine (depression med), Klonopin (anxiety med), Carbamazepine (treats Diabetic symptoms and is also a bipolar med), Ativan (anxiety med), Vicoprofen (pain reliever), Propranolol (hypertension, used to prevent heart attacks), Biaxin (antibiotic), Hydrocodone (pain med) and miscellaneous vitamins."
• "The night prior to her death, the decedent had consumed some noodles, leftover Thai food, Gatorade, water and tea with lemon."
• The investigators notes also say Murphy had "a history of hypoglycemia and was hospitalized in April 2009 for low blood sugar while on location in Oregon."
• Her husband said Brittany complained of shortness of breath and severe abdominal pains but that didn't alarm him since "she often suffered from severe menstrual pains."
• Police told the investigator "foul play is not suspected."

Murphy passed away over the weekend at a house in Los Angeles that belongs to her husband, Simon Monjack where she was staying with him and her mother, Sharon Murphy.

Carrie Underwood is getting married! Her fiance, Ottawa Senators hockey player Mike Fisher, put a ring on it!  That's right, the American Idol winner turned country music superstar is marrying this piece of meat:

Yummy! Good job, Carrie!

These two have done a good job of keeping their relationship on the down low, but I guess now the cat is out of the bag.

"The couple couldn't be happier," said publicist Jessie Schmidt.

Mike and Carrie haven't set a wedding date yet.  They've been dating for about a year.

Anthony Marshall, the elderly son of late New York City socialite Brooke Astor, has been sentenced to prison for one to three years on multiple charges.

CNN reports:

"Marshall, 85, had been found guilty of 14 of the 15 counts against him. Marshall was convicted of the most serious charges -- first-degree grand larceny and scheming to defraud. He faced a minimum of one to three years, or as much as eight to 25 years in state prison...

One of the most serious convictions involved Marshall giving himself a $1 million-a-year raise for handling his mother's affairs, said Assistant District Attorney Joel Seidemann. Marshall's former lawyer, Francis Morrissey, was also convicted of five counts against him relating to the case, including forgery and scheming to defraud Astor.

(VERY) BLIND ITEM

I'm stumped, and if I'm the only idiot who doesn't get this... then I have to really thank God for you GaySocialites for filling me in.

This blind item was posted on blindgossip.com, and I can't figure who the hell they are talking about!  Can you?

This a traditional “shopping” weekend for this established celebrity couple. She will likely be combing the aisles of every exclusive store, looking for that perfect flat panel TV or watch or digital camera or set of golf clubs for him. He will be busy too, but not in the way you think.

Since he must keep up appearances by spending the holiday with his family, his boyfriend gets this weekend. Our star will be very busy instructing him on how to properly unwrap and handle his gift. Don’t worry about his SO, though. His assistant will pick out a very nice gift for her – as is done every year – and she will feign excitement over her gift and their lovely and picture-perfect Christmas. We can’t wait for the photos of the whole family gathered around the tree, smiling, smiling, smiling. Fake, fake, fake!

NEWS OF THE WEIRD

Two 10-year-old boys walk into a bar... It sounds like the setup for a joke, right? WRONG!  Thais actually happened on Saturday afternoon at Score in Miami where GaySocialite Don Hood was working.

Hood posted this alarming humorous sad Facebook bulletin:

Don's right.  Something isn't right here.

Score, a nightclub that caters to the gay audience, clearly isn't the right place for a child.  For some reason, I picture some redneck parents in a pick-up waiting outside and laughing after allowing the youngsters to give it a shot. Earlier this week, a cross dressing 4-year-old was caught roaming the streets in Tennessee carrying a beer and wearing a stolen dress.  Now this.

I asked Don if the little tots that wondered into Score ordered cocktails, but Hood said they did not.  I guess his fatherly instinct kicked in, because he bounced the pre-teens right away.

 "They ran in, and I chased them out," Don said.  At least someone had these little brats' interest at heart!

GAY MARRIAGE

Gays may not be able to get married in most parts of the country, but same-sex couples in Washington may soon be able to tie the not.

The council voted 11 to 2 in favor of gay marriage, and mayor Adrian Fenty has promised to sign the bill.  The only problem could be that Congress gets to approve all measures for DC, so they could vote it down.

One of the two 'no' votes came from former mayor Marion Barry who is now a council member.  Rather than voting now, he voted "I don't."

Proponents to gay marriage say they will fight the bill in Congress and later at the polls.  With no opposition, gay couples in DC could be getting married as soon as March.

The council passed a bill earlier this year to recognize gay marriages performed elsewhere in the country.  Congress allowed that measure to become law with little opposition.

FAVORITE THINGS

Our holiday favorite things continues with the place where the GaySocialites will be getting fit this as a part of New Year's resolutions!  You must come see us at Steel Gym!

Ken Hunt, the gentle giant boss man, is one of those trainers who can motivate you and push you at the same time.  I can't promise that you'll be able to perform simple actions the day after training with Ken, but I found that it is possible to function without picking anything up or carrying a bag.

Seriously, I've never felt more comfortable and more motivated to get in great shape!  King Ralphy is bulking up for the Winter Music Festival, Dina Marie is getting trim for her record release and I'm just trying to firm up a little so I don't actually look my age!

This favorite thing is one of our most favorite things.  Check out Steel Gym! A gym membership would also make a good gift for someone you love!

SHOT OF THE DAY

Our shot of the day comes from the West Coast.  It's San Francisco's annual Speedo Santa Run. 

Who says you can't sell a little sex to make some money for AIDS research while drawing a whole lot of awareness as well.  Oh, did I forget to mention that the Speedo Santa Run is a benefit for the San Francisco AIDS Foundation?

Makes it a little more fun to watch, doesn't it?  Who doesn't want to watch a bunch of sexy do-gooders in nothing but their speedos.  I'd chip in to that!

Andrew Grande, who performed in gay porn under the name Dustin Michaels, has died after being tasered by police.  Sadly, Grande's last moments played out on film.  The video below is very graphic and may not be appropriate for everyone.

Grande was evidently being apprehended by cops when he swallowed a bag of marijuana.  Cops then tasered him which eventually led to breathing problems. Before you know it, Andrew was dead.

TruTV has addition video on which police officers predict that they've probably just killed Grande.

“Yeah, I don’t want to see nobody die,” one of the Bay County Police officers says. “Not over this. I ain’t never seen nobody eat something like that. I don’t know how many bags he got in his mouth.”

Another can be heard on a cell phone saying that Andrew is probably dead.

“My gut is, probably signal 7, but we’ll see,” the officer said. "Signal 7" is the cop code to describe a dead person.

Under the name Dustin Michaels, Grande appeared on such website as Broke Straight Boys and Naked Kombat.  He also evidently maintained an Xtube channel that has since been deleted.

Houston became the largest US city to elect an openly gay mayor over the weekend as Annise Parker earned a solid victory with 53% of the vote.

Parker never really made her sexual orientation an issue.  Some conservative groups condemned her for "homosexual behavior", but that didn't seem to affect voters.

LGBTQ groups are cheering Parker's victory.

"The fact that an openly gay candidate wins for mayor in the nation's fourth-largest city, in the South, in Texas, shows that when Americans get to know gay people as people, not as stereotypes, their resistance to treating gay people equally reduces," said Evan Wolfson, director of Freedom to Marry, which advocates for legalizing gay marriage.

IN CASE YOU MISSED IT

Diane Sawyer said good-bye to Good Morning America on Friday as she moves to her new gig as the anchor of the ABC evening news program World News.

Sawyer becomes only the second female to be the sole anchor of an evening news cast behind her new competition on CBS, Katie Couric.  Sawyer and Couric will take the majority in a slot traditionally dominated by male news anchors. As a matter of fact, this will leave Brian Williams as the only male anchor on the evening news.

After 10 years behind the GMA desk, Sawyer will start her new gig on December 21st as Charles Gibson retires.  ABC has announced that George Stephanopoulos will replace Sawyer on GMA.  We had hoped they might pick Suze Orman to solidify GMA as the gayest morning news in the land.  GMA weather forecaster Sam Champion and co-anchor Robin Roberts are both gay.

NIGHTLIFE

I HEARD... Veteran New York nightlife professional, Rickey Mercado, has a new gig at Posh in Hell's Kitchen.

Many of you probably know Rickey well whether you've been a regular at his Speed/ Shelter space, HK Hell's Kitchen or most recently Lucky Strike bowling alley.  

We don't have a lot of detail yet, but we do know that Rickey will be the manager at Posh after a brief orientation with the company.

Mercado has been around for a while and is known for being able to add flair to any nightlife establishment.  I'm sure we're going to be hearing a lot about Posh in the near future.

Posh is located at 405 West 51st Street in New York City.

SHOT OF THE DAY

Tonight is the first night of Hanukkah, and in honor of our Jewish friends - here's Adam Sandler's infamous "Hanukkah" song.

Whether you're spelling it Chanukah, Chanukkah, Hanukkah, Hanuka or Channuka; Sandler's little song is guaranteed to bring some laughter into your festival of lights.

Growing up as a Christian in the Bible belt, I never knew much about Judiasm.  After beginning my study of Kabbalah, I try to dedicate a little time to Hannukah each year whether I celebrate or not.  It is great way to learn about how it all began.

In case you haven't heard, Kylie Minogue is releasing "Kylie Live in New York," a live recording of one of her Manhattan shows earlier this year.  The GaySocialites were in the audience the night of the recording, but in case you weren't - you can get a sneak peak tonight on Kylie's YouTube channel.

"Kylie Live in New York" is a recording of the final performance on Minogue's US tour earlier this year.

The full version will be released on Monday, December 14th on iTunes.  This is a digital release only, so you'll have to get it online.

IN CASE YOU MISSED IT...

Its like Real Housewives day around here or somethin'!

Jill Zarin, my favorite housewife and a member of the Real Housewives of New York City cast, popped up on the Today show this morning to kick off Hanukkah by sharing her family latke receipe.

While Zarin whipped up her family latke receipe, we got a heaping helping of her zany personality.  As for the food- Jill calls it a light-latke, but her husband Bobby says it actually isn't a real latke.  Al Roker compared it to a knish.

I'm not Jewish, but I love Hanukkah food!  I'd take a latke right now, real or faux!

PHONE PAPS

Zolciak got booed by fans who said they waited shoulder-to-shoulder and bulge-to-buttocks for over two hours to see her perform. Was Kim tardy for her own party?

GAYSOCIALITES.COM EXCLUSIVE

The Real Housewives star wasn't late at all.  She was hanging out backstage with promoters Alan Picus, Chris Ryan and Dougie Meyer as well as "the press" (i.e. King Ralphy (pictured below), Andrew Werner, Jeff Eason, yours truly) and others.  It was a real shit show, but a good time over all!

After Zolciak took the stage, fans quickly forgot how long they had been waiting and blew the roof off the house by singing along with Kim to "Tardy for the Party" twice!  (I guess that's what happens when you only have one song, but hey - it's one song more than I have!)

Hats off to Alan Picus for getting Zolciak at his Campus Thursday party!  He packed the house.  You couldn't walk inside Splash at all!  It was wall-to-wall gay boy!  You don't see parties like that too often!

Standouts (other than those previously mentioned): Watch What Happens host Andy Cohen, Real Housewives of New Jersey star Dina Manzo, recording artist Dina Marie, Zolciak look-a-like Chaka Convict, nightlife promoter Jason Preston, gorgeous go-go god Brandon Probst, DJ's Steve Sidewalk and Vito Fun.

THURSDAY NIGHT ON TELEVISION

The Real Housewives of Orange County is all new tonight, and there seems to be some major drama brewing!

The day has finally come for Lynne and her daughter to go under the knife and the two are both anxious for their surgeries, will each procedure go smoothly? 

And it’s a meeting of the frenemies when Tamra and Gretchen sit down to try and bury the hatchet. 

But when Tamra presses Gretchen about past rumors that she refuses to let die, will Gretchen walk out on her?  Or will the two finally find civil ground?

The Real Housewives of Orange County airs tonight at 10/9c on Bravo.

American Idol runner-up Adam Lambert appeared on The View this morning in a pre-recorded interview and performance.

During his interview, Lambert basically said the same ole' same ole'.  While he didn't seem apologetic for his behavior during this AMA performance that led to the cancellation of all live performances on ABC, Lambert had the women of The View agreeing that there should be bigger things for people to worry about.

The co-hosts seemed to want to some fire during Lambert's performance, but they got a watered down version of "Whataya Want From Me":

Lambert also admitted that while he is a sexual person, this isn't how he wanted to get started with his professional career.

CHARLES ON...

This week, the gay awards shows started wrapping up 2009 with the Glammy's and the Out Music Awards.

After every Glammy presentation, the nominees and their friends walk away bitter after discovering that the least suspected are normally the ones who get the awards. "Let's start our own awards," shouted one multi-colored queen as another said "let's just buy nicer trophies and carry them around."  Both are great ideas, but why not just offer an awards presentation that everyone sees as fair? With facts to back it and a well-chosen committee to govern it?

That's why I've decided to re-craft the GaySocialites Awards and re-name them "The New York Gay Nightlife Awards."  The GNA's will be handed out during gay pride and will recognize those who go above and beyond in New York's gay nightlife scene.

We'll continue to vote the same way that GaySocialites.com has given away their awards for the past five years and the same way HX held their voting process as well.  A fair online ballot will be given to anyone who requests one simply by logging in to an online voting machine.

A steering committee will consist of a panel of nightlife professionals from different genres throughout the gay nightlife scene.

I'm not taking anything away from either of this week's awards ceremonies. They both had their moments.  Peppermint stole the show at the Glammy's with her fire blowing opening number, and Acid Betty pulled her own little Kanye at the Out Music Awards by stealing the stage during a bland number.

I also have to tip my hat to those recognized this week.  Each and every one of them definitely deserved it, and I can't say I discredit any of them at anything they do. 

I assume the Glammy's will continue to recognize those who bring the pizazz to the industry as the Out Music Awards shines the spotlight on the artists.  The New York Gay Nightlife Awards will recognize those who create the basis for it all and contribute the most to making each and every New York night unforgettable.

NIGHTLIFE

American Idol runner-up Adam Lambert was spotted last night at Splash in New York City.  It's like ar ight of passage for any gay visiting New York City.

No big shocker, but Adam picked to stop by the "Musical Monday" party where queens belt out sho2w tunes and aspiring Broadway superstars show off what they've got.

Adam and his friends didn't sing, but they evidently got a lot of attention.  They were overheard saying their next stop was Barracuda.  I wonder if they ever made it.

STUPID BITCHES CLUB

On Thursday, GaySocialites.com inducted more members into their Stupid Bitches Club as the 38 New York Senators who voted against gay marriage each earned their spot in the coveted organization.

The Stupid Bitches Club (or SBC) recognizes stupid people who do bitchy things to promote hate or general stupidity.

Other members include Britney Spears, Ann Coulter, Sarah Palin and Carrie Prejean.  There's a full list of the Senators who were inducted into GaySocialites.com's SBC after the break.

Some of those names include girlfriend beater Hiram Monserrate, defector Ruben Diaz Sr and alleged self-hating homosexual Carl Krueger.
