It looks like Sarah Palin has her sights set on an office higher than Alaska and doesn't want to waste the state's time and money any more. The Governor announced this afternoon that she will not be running for re-election, and she will be resigning from office later this month.

“We've got to put first things first. I love my job and I love Alaska. I am doing what’s best for Alaska,” Palin said at a news conference from her hometown of Wasill

“Millions of dollars go down the drain in this new political environment,” she said.

“Rather, we know we can effect positive change outside government,” she continued and “actually make a difference.”

I find that hard to believe.

There's definitely something brewing. As WCBS's Lou Young mentions on Twitter, "This Sarah Palin thing would not be happening on a holiday if it were good news for her. Something else is up."

Palin says she hopes to make a difference and help change America outside the Governor's office.

Alaska Governor Sarah Palin is set to announce that she will not run for re-election, and she will even step down at the end of the month.

That's a big shocker coming from someone who could be the next big star in the Republican party.

I'm not surprised that Palin won't run for re-election, but the fact that she won't even finish out first turn could hurt her future political aspirations.

Some believe this could be Palin's exit from the public eye while others are waiting to see what the underlying scandal is.

Michael Jackson's funeral is currently scheduled for 10 a.m. this Tuesday at the Staples Center in downtown Los Angeles.

AEG Live, which owns the basketball arena and the Nokia Theater next door, will use both facilities and the surrounding plaza. There's no word yet on how tickets will be distributed.

We originally thought the funeral was being held at Michael's former home, Neverland Ranch. The Jackson family is evidently trying to make arrangements to have the singer buried on the property.

Debbie Rowe evidently wants custody of at least two of Michael Jackson's kids. Rowe was the surrogate mother for 12-year-old Prince Michael and 11-year-old Paris Michael, and according to reports on Thursday - she wants the kids now that Michael is gone.

"I want my children," Rowe said in an interview Thursday morning with radio station KNBC in Los Angeles. Rowe also said she was willing to undergo DNA testing to prove she is indeed the children's biological mother.

Michael's will said that he nominated his mother, Katherine, to have custody of the kids. In that same will, Jackson says he intentionally left Rowe out of his inheritance.

Travis Kraft was born and raised in the midwest, and now he's living it up in Hollywood. He's an actor and model, and he's freakin' beautiful.

Sam Adams has been cleared by the Attorney General who said there isn't any evidence to support a claim that the Portland Mayor kissed his ex-boyfriend Beau Breedlove before he was 18-years-old.

Breedlove spoke with KGW-TV claiming the kiss happened while he was only 17 in the bathroom of the city hall men's room in 2005.

“My best recollection is a security guard walked in right when we were finished. It was one of those situations when you panic because you know you’ve been caught,” Breedlove said.

Breedlove also had some harsh words for his ex-boyfriend, Mayor Adams, saying he felt "burned" by the mayor.

The oldest of the Jonas Brothers is off the market. It's a good thing he isn't one of the cuter ones, huh?

Kevin Jonas is evidently engaged to his long-time girlfriend Danielle Deleasa. He'll be trading his purity ring for a wedding band soon.

They've been dating for about two years, and evidently that was enough time for the two to find love. Kevin evidently asked Danielle to marry him over the weekend at her home in New Jersey.

Kevin told People that Deleasa "said yes, yes, yes like 500 times superfast in a row." How cool. (sarcasm is my thing)

GaySocialites.com has decided not publish any photos of Michael Jackson as he died in the back of that ambulance, but others like OK Magazine are going all the way with it.

OK has decided to put what they're calling Jackson's last photo on the cover of their latest edition. However, it is really a photo of MJ while he was trying to hold onto life.

If you'd like to see a picture of the cover, we came across this YouTube video of the mag. I'm a bit disappointed that OK decided to run the picture at all, but I really am surprised they're putting it on the cover. Rumor has it that they paid $500,000 for the photo.

Bank announced to the staff that he had sold the magazine to a top secret buyer and that their services were no longer needed.

The HX staff put together their last issue after Pride, and the rest is history. The big question is whether or not the new owners of HX Magazine will keep the publication going.

"The information about the sale is confidential," Banks told me in response to an e-mail I sent requesting information.

Why would it be so confidential? Our sources say that HX's competitor, Next Magazine, might be the buyer. We haven't been able to confirm this news with HX or Next, but that's what we're being told from some pretty reliable sources.

"I don't know what the buyer's plans are," he added. "They are going to announce them when they are ready to."

If you can find an HX Magazine this weekend, you should probably grab it. You never know, it might be the last.

This year, the GaySocialites will honor someone who normally doesn't take the spotlight with their "Best Behind the Scenes" award.

The nominees will be announced on Friday, July 3rd and you might expect anyone from a bar back to a secretary on the list of those who deserve recognition for their work behind the scenes.

OK Magazine is coming under fire after they paid $500,000 for what seems to be the last picture of Michael Jackson alive. The tabloid says they even plan to put the photo of Jackson as he dies in the back of an ambulance on the cover.

The “Official Tribute Issue,” will hit stands on newsstands Wednesday.

“It’s a photo that captures the surprise and the upset and the moment of this breaking news story. I hope the cover will provoke readers,” OK! editorial director Sarah Ivens said in defense of the magazine’s decision to run the image. “It celebrated the man, but it also does expose that he was an eccentric character who lived a very controversial life.”
