FASHION FOCUS: Street Heat… I Need It!!
1It’s February, it’s chilly outside, and Fashion Week in NYC is upon us. The streets are pulsing with fashion and people putting their most fashionable hooves (thanks Lisa Vanderpump) forward. It’s difficult to capture all the style that I see on a regular basis. The streets are always hot with style and I love taking any photos I can manage to capture. I have chosen a few recent photos from my own collection.
Walking through the city is a minefield of fashion…. it’s not always easy to catch it
This guy’s look definitely shouted at me. Tapered, put-together, classy…
I actually complimented this girl on her simple, yet effective look. This is a silhouette I am seeing a lot lately. Skinny Jean or legging, with an oversized coat and funky wedge boots or something else equally as funky.
This woman chose easy hair, but I also see this kind of look paired with any assortment of hat. Her animal print is bold and not too much. The coat had big volume and seemed to float around her. Good job lady!
On that astonishing 61 degree January day that we had recently, I saw this treasure. What a beautiful garment…delicate and intricate. The bag is another fun little treat. It’s apparent that she likes to have fun with style and she definitely enjoyed the weather and the sweater!
I believe he is a street performer or something….. he’s not the nicest guy, but this look is one of the most unique things I’ve seen in the streets yet. I can see it in any of my nightlife haunts where the children dress to excess! He’d fit in perfectly, ha!
I just loved this lady (obviously, right?)…. something about her just screamed “Madison Avenue”….and then when I looked at the photo carefully, I noticed the Madison Ave. street sign ironically hanging above her head. I enjoyed watching her saunter down the street with her dark and spicy perfume that lingered around her like an expensive aura. Very Chanel woman….
the stories she must have….. I hope she’s a nice woman….
now….. you better believe I was NOT going to let this man pass by and not comment and take his photo. His name, George. His look, not PETA friendly I’m guessing. Adorned with silver underneath it all. The turquoise speaks for itself….. he’s a creation and very nice. Thanks George for indulging me and allowing me the photo!
while we’re offending PETA…. I was really far away from this one so I can’t authenticate its real or faux-ness. It’s always striking to see a full-length, anytime.
I often wonder what my golden years fashion will serve. I feel like I’d be a part of this team… I love this guy for maintaining the style and setting an example for us all! Never let the sexy go!
Saw this girl at the Brooklyn museum while waiting for MNDR to perform…. she is not one to be overlooked in this plush jacket. Not everyone will be brave enough to wear something like this….. but wouldn’t it be good if everyone were?
Like a leather-clad Gentleman? Well this might just be your speed.
He had a very confident stride and seemed quite dedicated to his look. Where was he on his way to? Is he just in love with leather, or is he on his way to get whipped and dominated? (WELL, why wouldn’t I take it there?)
“From the mouth of babes” ….. This youngster is NOT afraid! Kudos young buck….kudos!
Deconstruction against construction against grunge against punk against goth takes on rasta take on metal takes on hair weave takes on dreadlocks matches up with combat versus peace…… This look is…. What isn’t this look?! Outrageous and amazing! Say what you will but can you pull it off? (You Can If You believe You Can!)
The streets are always hot! Kids everywhere are serving up the groundbreaking looks that eventually make their way to the runways and magazines. Paying attention to what’s hot in the streets is the gateway to seeing what’s going to be hot in the media….
*L OO K HOW Y O U WANT TO F E E L*
So, I say all that because I have been feeling a bit stagnant in my own fashion world. I have a considerable amount of apparel and up to this point I have been completely overwhelmed with options and therefore always feeling wonderful about all my choices. Lately, I have been very bored with fashion and in need of inspiration. I see lots of people that look great on the street and in general I’m always gathering inspiration from everywhere. However……
I need more!!
Maybe it’s time to start over in my own closet and get rid of everything. Make room for the inspiration and it’ll come. Fashion Week is here and I need to carve a space into it and get inspired! FASHION FOCUS has been a wonderful outlet and I look forward to sharing more inspirational ideas. As always I welcome any and all feedback to this post or any other FASHION FOCUS post… Thank you so much for your support!
