Daniel Nardicio Presents The Downtown Series at Feinstein’s

I am shocked and delighted that one of my favorite people in nightlife is doing something at one of my favorite venues, though I could never have imagined the combination. The notorious Daniel Nardicio moves uptown with The Downtown Series at Feinstein’s, bringing downtown performers to this world class venue known for it’s elegance and sophistication. Can you believe it?
For this series Daniel collaborates with co-producer Jen Gapay, aka Thirsty Girl Productions, who is responsible for the New York Burlesque Festival, co-produced Amanda Lepore’s CD release concert last year with Nardicio, and founded the Siren Music Fest in Coney Island. The duo hope to bring a whole new audience to Feinstein’s at The Regency, as well as expose these performers to new fans. Daniel says, “I love Feinstein’s at the Regency. Our goal here isn’t just to do a short series – it’s to bring a whole fresh generation of talent to this amazing venue.”
The series kicks off tomorrow, Monday, February 13th, with the luscious New Orleans native Ingrid Lucia (pictured above), and her New Orleans Jazz Band, brought up from the Big Easy especially to celebrate Carnival season as it heads toward Mardi Gras. Lucia is best known as the lead singer of the cult band The Flying Neutrinos. Introducing Lucia will be drag sensation Bianca Del Rio (also currently appearing in Hot Mess at XL), also a New Orleans native.
Ingrid Lucia has been performing since the age of 11. She began in her family’s Traditional Jazz band The Flying Neutrinos. She continued singing, dancing and playing the drums from the streets of New Orleans to the circuses of Mexico and the Clubs of NYC and Paris. Ingrid took over the band at the age of 20 and moved its headquarters to NYC. She added new talent and original material, and the band has signed with a major label and toured the world. Ingrid herself returned to New Orleans in 2001, and currently is writing and recording original material for herself and other talented artists such as Amanda Shaw and Glen David Andrews.
Next up is Bridget Everett, best known for her raunchy lyrics and over the top antics, on February 19th. Opening for Everett will be powerhouse vocalist Amber Martin. February 28th features modern cabaret star Molly Pope, joined by Logo TV star and YouTube sensation Cole Escola. The 29th brings Angela Di Carlo and her Mad Men-tinged musical parodies, together with Broadway’s own Natalie Joy Johnson, who originated the role of Enid Hoopes in Legally Blonde.
