Here’s another sign of how bad New York City’s nightlife scene is struggling. Vig 27 is one of the city’s newest gay bars, but soon it will not exist at all.
Next Magazine is reporting that the doors at VIG 27 in Murray Hill will be closing for good on May 21st
“We have decided to close Vig over the next few weeks,” owner David Albiero the magazine’s blog. “It has been a hard struggle and we have fought a gallant battle but it is time to put her to bed. We are very proud of what we created.”
Albiero also says that Vig 27 will be operating on a limited schedule until they do go out of business. The doors will be closed for the next few days and will repopen on Wednesday May 11th hosting events through Saturday May 14th. The bar will then close once again, before saying goodbye for good on Saturday, May 21st.
