Gay and lesbian supporters backing Andrew Cuomo for Governor in New York have hit Facebook to drum up support for their candidate.

The page is not only a meeting place for Cuomo supporters, but also an outlet for undecided voters to find out about the Democratic nominee’s pledge to the gay community.

“I pledge my continued commitment to work with you in achieving equality for gay, lesbian, bi-sexual and transgender (LGBT) citizens,” Cuomo is quoted as saying on the Facebook page.

The group is also using Facebook as an outlet to display Cuomo’s endorsements from LGBT groups like GaySocialites.com and to distribute information about various events.

New Yorkers will go to the polls on November 2nd to pick the new Governor.
