A look back at the life of actress Brittany Murphy
As King Ralphy told you earlier here at GaySocialites.com, actress Brittany Murphy died on Sunday morning. Cedars-Sinai Medical Center Spokeswoman Sally Stewart has confirmed the news.
Even though her career and life were both too short, Brittany is not someone we will soon forget. Let's take a look back at the life of Brittany Murphy.
Born Nov. 10, 1977 in Atlanta, Murphy grew up in New Jersey and later moved with her mother to Los Angeles to pursue acting.
CAREERMurphy's career started in the early 1990s with small roles in television series, commercials and movies. Her big break, of course, came with the quirky 90's comedy "Clueless". She will also be remembered for roles in "Girl, Interrupted" and "8 Mile."
In recent years, Brittany began working as a voice actor lending her memorable voice to numerous animated characters, including Luanne Platter on more than 200 episodes of Fox's "King of the Hill" and Gloria the penguin in "Happy Feet."
While living, Murphy credited her mother, Sharon, with being a key to her success.
PERSONAL LIFE
Murphy's personal life first drew the attention of the gossip mags and tabloids when she started dating actor Ashton Kutcher.
On Sunday, Kutcher left these messages on Twitter:
After splitting with Kutcher, Murphy went on to marry British screenwriter Simon Monjack. The 9-1-1 call on the morning of her death was from one of Monjack's homes.
AFTER DEATHWe haven't seen the last of Murphy on the big screen. The Associated Press is reporting that she is due to appear in Sylvester Stallone's upcoming film, "The Expendables," set for release next year.
Even though an official cause of death hasn't been released, TMZ is reporting that Murphy died of cardiac arrest. They also say it was Brittany's mother who found her unconscious in the shower.
The LAPD has launced a full investigation into her death.

Speaking of not belonging … after listening to the audio version of my story The Cell Window, a co-worker told me that if I were a single guy, she’d keep her distance from me. But since I’m the married father of two, the disturbing content of the story doesn’t bother her as much (yeah, I’m not sure this is solid logic, either). My fiction writing has really opened people’s eyes and made them realize that there’s a dark side to me :)
