There is something seriously wrong in all the Caribbean islands when it comes to homophobic bigotry. Such ignorance is sickeningly rampant there. I hope attorney general Holder is paying close attention to this and will send investigators in if the locals aren't professional or competent enough to understand the concept of equal protection.

Its damn sad when anyone makes light of a hideous crime such as the one spoke of above.

I've cancelled any vacations to homophobic Caribbean Islands...and recommended it also to all my friends! Hawaii also has it's group of "ignorant - I am better than you because I go to church" people, who would condemn their own Gay children to unhappiness and hatred. My brother passed away last year, after living his life as an openly homosexual man in a heterosexual world. He was an artist, so his universe was a lot more forgiving of his lifestyle than most gay men's. Still, he suffered his share of stupidity from "well-intended assholes" and "Bible thumpers" who had no idea that when Jesus said that there were but two commandments (Love God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your strength, and the second, much like the first, love your neighbor as you love yourself) He made no differences between straight, gay, lesbian, or transgendered.

I believe that anyone may chose who to bed, who to make love to, and even, who to hate, no matter how wrong hate is. There is no way what they did to this young man (I say they, because I do believe there must have been more than one involved) can be understood, but the comments I have read in this post are so scary as if those who made them lived in the same universe as the one inhabited by the murderer or murderers.

I am a Christian and suffer with what I read about what happened to this boy, George. I also suffer with what I read about that woman who prostituted her 5 year-old daughter who just appeared dead. But my brother's life taught me that those things will happen, no matter what. He made the world a better place by never hating; those of you who have written in this post to say you need weapons, who have called me an animal just because I am straight, are as much haters as those who did this to George.
