Should Caroline Kennedy become a Senator just because she's a Kennedy?

IN CASE YOU MISSED IT

Caroline Kennedy is well on her way to becoming the next United States Senator from New York. It looks like Caroline has picked up endorsements from her uncle Ted Kennedy, New York City Mayor Mike Bloomberg and Senate Majority Leader Trent Lott.

As MSNBC's Rachel Maddow points out in this video, I can't help but ask whether or not Caroline is qualified to be a Senator just because she is a legacy. Rachel, of course, goes off on a tangent about the Clintons. And you know the Clintons can do no wrong in my eyes, so ignore that part.

Seriously, I'm not sure if giving Caroline Kennedy a Senate seat because of her last name is a great idea, but I'm sure her image and celebrity could do some damage in Washington.
