Most Americans seem to approve of Barack Obama's cabinet choices
Share on FacebookBarack Obama is off to a good start, according to a USA TODAY/Gallup Poll surveying voter's thoughts on the President-elect's cabinet choices.
By 69%-25%, those surveyed approve of Obama's choice of former rival Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton as secretary of State.
Even more approve of Obama's decision to have President Bush's Defense secretary, Robert Gates, by 80%-14%.
In the poll, Americans say they trust Obama more than Bush to handle the economy by more than 3-1.
Fifty-eight percent say trust Obama's promise of a huge spending package to stimulate the economy.
There does seem to be a little concern that Obama's administration looks a lot like former President Clinton's team when he was on the hill. However, if he's looking for a young group of experienced Democrats, the Clinton years would be a good place to start.
