I've always loved Wanda Sykes, and maybe it was my deep down gaydar going off. Over the weekend, Sykes spoke before a rally of more than 1,000 people in Las Vegas and came out of the closet as gay. To top it off, Wanda revealed that she married her girlfriend in California on October 25th.

Sykes, attending one of many world-wide rallies, says she decided to come out now to let people know that Proposition 8 is affecting more than you might imagine.

"I don't really talk about my sexual orientation," Wanda told the crowd at the Las Vegas GLBT Community Center. "I didn't feel like I had to. I was just living my life, not necessarily in the closet, but I was living my life."

"Everybody that knows me personally, they know I'm gay. But that's the way people should be able to live their lives."

But that has all changed, Sykes says.

"Now, I gotta get in their face," she continued. "I'm proud to be a woman. I'm proud to be a black woman, and I'm proud to be gay."

Rally organizers said they didn't even know Sykes was going to attend. Little did they know that she would make national headlines at their protest!
