Victory for gay marriage in Connecticut

Same-sex marriage became legal on Wednesday in Connecticut, and gay couples rushed to the altar to do something they have never been able to do before.
Now that California has passed Proposition 8 (for now), Massachusetts and Connecticut are the only states that allow gay marriage. That basically makes it a North Eastern-thing.
My big gay crystal ball says that New Jersey and New York will soon follow. Nearly 4,000 protesters surrounded the Mormon Temple on Wednesday night to show their support for same-sex marriage. In addition, the governors of both states have pledged to support gay marriage.
The Connecticut Supreme Court ruled 4-3 in early October that same-sex couples have the right to wed rather than accept a 2005 civil union law designed to give them the same rights as married couples. A lower-court judge entered a final order permitting same-sex marriage Wednesday morning.
