Proposition 8 leading in early returns, but too close to call

California voters didn't just help elect Barack Obama president on Tuesday, but they also got to vote on whether or not gay marriages should be performed in their state. The race for Proposition 8 is much closer than the Presidency.
Prop 8 was up for vote to re-ban gay marriages in California. The Supreme Court of that state decided that banning gay marriage was against the state constitution.
The measure is leading the early returns with absentee ballot results showing Proposition 8 with 56 percent of the vote.
The presidential race might be over, but we're watching this one for the rest of the evening.
