Former First Lady Barbara Pierce Bush was hospitalized on Tuesday after complaining of a "little bit of pain," but few details were available.

Barbara is, of course, the wife of former President George Herbert Walker Bush and the mother of current President George W. Bush.

A family spokesperson said former President Bush was by his wife's side. Mrs Bush is 83 years old.

She is expected to remain in the hospital while some tests are run.

"So far everything is negative," Bush spokesperson Jim McGrath said. "Fortunately, it looks like it's going to be a small matter," he added.

Local media is reporting that Mrs. Bush has been ill for a week, and that she will be released in time for Thanksgiving with her family.
