Barack Obama and John McCain meet for first time post-election in Chicago

Barack Obama met with this formal Presidential rival this afternoon as John McCain visited Obama's transitional offices in Chicago.
The two former opponents posed for cameras and made brief statements before heading behind closed doors.
"We're going to have a good conversation about how we can do some work together to fix up the country," said President-elect Obama.
"And also to offer thanks to Senator McCain for the outstanding service he's already rendered."
After the meeting, Obama and McCain released a joint statement saying they plan to work together in the near future to guide the country in a new direction.
Obama has said that he will have Republicans in his cabinet, but I can't imagine that McCain would leave the Senate to serve in a Democrat's administration.
