The folks behind "Footloose" have put the re-make on the fast track in hopes of soaking up some sweet Zac Efron.

The project was announced last year, but fell in line behind "17 Again" and "High School Musical 3." Now the producers want to capitalize on Efron's fame and get the film under works qucikly.

Zac, however, is using his success to his advantage. Despite the fact that a star studded cast has signed on to be in front and behind the cameras, Efron is close to a deal for the film that could include both a mid-seven-figure salary and sign-off rights on the script.

I liked the first "Footloose," but I love Zac Efron. Hopefully, the remake will knock my socks off!
