Rosie O'Donnell to host NBC variety show

rosievarietyshow.jpg

It looks like one of my favorite lesbians, Rosie O'Donnell, is coming back to television!!!

O'Donnell is set to host "Rosie's Variety Show" live on November 26th, the day before Thanksgiving on NBC. If things go well, then Rosie might be back on TV for good after the turn of the year.

"We want to show people that variety can be done in a new and inventive way for 2008," said Craig Plestis, NBC Entertainment’s exec VP for alternative programming, development and specials. "We hope to do it in ways you haven’t seen before. It’s going to be the YouTube of variety shows.."

This will mark Rosie's first major return to television after she quit "The View." O'Donnell has always alluded to the fact that she would like to have her own variety show, so this looks like a dream come true for Rosie!

O’Donnell called the chance to host a primetime variety skein "a dream come true — old-time variety, live from New York, with a nod to Ed Sullivan, Carol Burnett and memories of Sonny and Cher."

You know I'll be watching. As a matter of fact, I can't freakin' wait!
