It has been a good day for those fighting Proposition 8, a ban on gay marriage in California.

According to the Advocate, real estate tycoon and Hollywood producer Steve Bing donated a half-million-dollars. The Human Rights Campaign also announced it was contributing another $750,000, bringing the HRC’s total contribution to Equality for All to $3 million.

The California Teachers Association Issues political action committee upped their July donation from $250,000 by $1 million yesterday.

Will & Grace star Eric McCormack and Desperate Housewives’ Dana Delany each wrote checks for $5,000. Manhunt.net co-owners Larry Basile and Jonathan Crutchley donated a combined $10,000.

This brings the group urging California residents to vote no on prop 8 much closer to matching the opposition's budget.
