Sarah Palin has only been John McCain's running mate for a few days, and she is already causing tons of controversy - with babies!

As we told you over the weekend, rumor has it Palin's youngest daughter is actually her granddaughter having been born to Gov. Palin's teen daughter. No one has really been able to confirm that yet, but what we can confirm is that Sarah's 17-year-old unmarried daughter is currently pregnant.

John McCain said he already knew that Palin's teen daughter, Bristol, was pregnant when he asked her mother to join the Republican ticket.

Palin says Bristol will marry her baby's daddy and have the kid.

"We're proud of Bristol's decision to have her baby and even prouder to become grandparents,'' Sarah and her husband, Todd Palin, said in a statement on Monday.

"Bristol and the young man she will marry are going to realize very quickly the difficulties of raising a child, which is why they will have the love and support of our entire family," the statement added.

Steve Schmidt, a spokesman for McCain, said the Arizona senator considered the issue to be "a private family matter".

"As parents [the Palins] love their daughter unconditionally and are going to support their daughter. Life happens," he said.
