What is so confusing about Spain, McCain?

John McCain is the worst at avoiding questions that he doesn't want to answer.
Trying to play stupid, McCain was dodging a question about whether or not he would meet with Prime Minister Zapatero of Spain. Instead of answering yes or no, Senator McCain tried to dodge the question. Instead he just sounded stupid!
The reporter asked: "Let's talk about Spain. If you're elected president, would you be willing to invite President [sic] José Luis RodrÃguez Zapatero to the White House to meet with you? "
How does Johnny boy respond?
After gasping for air for a few minutes, McCain suddenly started rattling on about Sarah Palin... then he went on a wacky tangent:
"And by the way, President Calderon of Mexico is fighting a very, very tough fight against the drug cartels. I'm glad we are now working in cooperation with the Mexican government on the Merida plan, and I intend to move forward these relations and invite as many of them as I can of those leaders to the White House. "
In McCain's defense- the reporter, Yoli Cuello, does have a thick Spanish accent. Here's what Yoli had to say about the odd interview.
"I didn't get the impression that he didn't know who Zapatero was or where Spain was," Cuello said. "Honestly, what I thought was that he didn't want to answer the question with a yes or no answer."
McCain is a little old and not known to be the most healthy guy. Maybe he's losing it?! I'll stick with my theory that he is bad at dodging questions.
