Joe Lieberman betrayed his roots by addressing the Republican National Convention on Tuesday night. The former Democratic Vice-Presidential nominee not only endorsed John McCain but also bashed Barack Obama.

The New York Times is reporting that McCain actually wanted Lieberman to be his Vice-Presidential running mate. Instead, he settled for Sarah Palin to appease his right-wing critics.

Lieberman, now an independent senator from Connecticut, tried to reiterate McCain's credentials as a maverick who isn't afraid of change.

If you ask me, he's talking about the old McCain.
