New York City gays are going to stage a rally this weekend at City Hall against hate crimes and violence.

Following a string of recent gay hate crimes in the New York City area including those against singer Kevin Aviance and reality star Josie Smith Malave who will appear at the rally, a group decided to ban together to raise awareness.

City Council Yetta Kurland is also expected to speak.

The "Rally Against Hate Crime & Violence" will take place this Saturday between 3 and 6pm at Foley Square by City Hall in Manhattan.
