Clay Aiken seems so excited to be out of the closet! Is it just me or does he seem a little gayer?

Aiken opened up to Diane Sawyer Thursday morning, and it was wonderful to see him so happy! Check out the video above!

"I don't ever want to raise him in an environment where it's not OK for him to be exactly who he is, no matter what," Aiken told Sawyer about his newborn son, Parker Foster Aiken.

Aiken also admits that he did not tell anyone he was gay until he was on "American Idol," when he told fellow contestant Kimberley Locke.

"When I got on 'Idol' ... people were cheering me on and being supportive," said Aiken, who was runner-up on the singing showdown in 2003. "There you are in an environment that is more open and more accepting ... where you don't feel like such an outcast."

It's great to be gay, right Clay?
