World's Tallest Woman, Sandy Allen, dead at 53

Earlier this week, I told you about the world's tallest man. Now, I have some sad news to report about the world's tallest woman. Sandy Allen has died.
Guinness World Records listed Allen as the world's tallest living woman at the time of her death. She was 7-foot-7.
Sandy weighed 6-1/2 pounds when she was born in June 1955. By the age of 10, Allen had grown to be 6-foot-3, and was 7-1 by the time she was 16.
Allen had tumor on her pituitary gland that caused her remarkable growth removed in 1977, but her notoriety as the world's tallest woman helped her come out of her shell. Sandy even loved entertaining kids and making them laugh as they soaked up her height.
Sandy Allen was 53-years-old at the time of her death.
