John McCain has shocked the nation with his pick for Vice-President. In a blatant attempt to tap into disenfranchised Hillary Clinton supporters, McCain has picked Alaska Governor Sarah Palin as his running mate.

Palin is definitely a Washington outsider having never served in office there and having only been a Governor for 2 years.

Her positions are conservative and match those of McCain. Gov. Palin is pro-life, pro gun and a fighter. She has 5 kids, the youngest has down syndrome and the oldest is in the military.

McCain's decision to go with the dark horse is definitely a good way to steal the headlines after a powerful Democratic Convention this week and a huge acceptance speech by Barack Obama.
