Joe Lieberman could be good for the gays in Washington

John McCain and Barack Obama are both narrowing down the choices for Vice-President, and Joe Lieberman (one time Democrat, turned Independent) is evidently on McCain's short list.
That would be a strange turn of events considering that Lieberman ran as Al Gore's Vice-President in 2000 on the Democratic ticket.
The good news is that Joe Lieberman could be good for gays in Washington. According to About.com, Lieberman may not support gay marriage; but he is definitely gay friendly.
Lieberman supports the Employment Non-Discrimination Act Reintroduced Employment Non-Discrimination Act. He was a co-sponor of the original ENDA.
Lieberman is a co-sponor of a bill that would amend the Federal Hate Crimes Law to include sexual orientation.
Lieberman supports giving gays and lesbians the same rights as heterosexuals to adopt children.
Lieberman supports a repeal of Don't Ask, Don't Tell, which would allow gay and lesbian soldiers to serve openly in the military.
Interesting,.huh? This is in no way an endorsement for a McCain/ Lieberman ticket, but it would be nice if he slipped in a gay friendly V.P!
Lieberman's chances probably aren't very good, and it might rattle the Republican party. He did, however, recently announce a trip to Georgia thus looking very Vice-Presidential!
