Hurricane Gustav strikes RNC before making land fall

Hurricane Gustav is already affecting the United States, and it hasn't even hit the gulf yet. So far, George Bush and Dick Cheney have pulled out of the Republican National Convention. John McCain has also called to scale back events on opening day of the convention.
McCain told his supporters and delegates it is time to “take off our Republican hats and put on our American hats.”
The Republican's campaign manager Rick Davis, speaking in St. Paul, said the Monday session would be designed to comply with requirements of calling the convention to order. From there, everything is day by day.
Senator McCain and running mate Sarah Palin toured rescue centers in Mississippi on Sunday. No word yet on whether or not they will attend the convention.
