Ryan Lochte, United States:

Ryan Lochte, swimming: Lochte is a multiple world record holder. Ryan took the gold in the 2004 Olympic 4x200m Freestyle, and he is an Olympic silver medalist in the 200m Medley.
Lochte specializes in the backstroke and individual medley. He is best known kicking up speed under water.
Matthew Mitcham, Australia:

Matthew Mitcham, diving: Australian diver Matthew Mitcham is going to Beijing to compete in the Summer Olympics as an openly gay man with pride.
Mitcham seems to have a serious shot at a medal in the 10-meter platform. He won the USA Diving Grand Prix in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida earlier this year. Matthew is a former trampoline athlete.
Michael Phelps, United States:

Michael Phelps, swimming: Phelps holds World Records in several events.
He won eight medals at the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens, six of which were gold, which tying the record for medals at a single Olympics.
Phelps was named World Swimmer of the Year in 2003, 2004, 2006 and 2007. He has qualified to compete in eight swimming events at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing.
