Homojournalist Rachel Maddow gets major spot on MSNBC

It's a great day for homojournalists everywhere!
Rachel Maddow just got a new gig, and she is breaking ground for the LGBT community!! Maddow is replacing Dan Abrams in the 9 p.m. slot on MSNBC. That's huge.
As for Abrams, who is the outgoing General Manager, he'll be a special correspondent and daytime host as MSNBC expands their news coverage. In other words, he's probably soon to be unemployed.
Maddow will take her new post on September 8th.
Maddow's new gig is so important to aspiring gay broadcast journalists as she is the first openly gay woman to host a prime-time program.
This is a ballsy move by MSNBC who has recently been accused of moving left to compete with Fox News from the opposite end of the aisle.
Hats off to MSNBC, and congrats to Rachel! We'll definitely watch you instead of Larry King Live!
