Hallmark jumps into gay wedding market with same-sex cards

Hallmark is keeping up with the times by offering new same sex wedding cards.
Some of the new gay wedding cards feature two tuxedos, overlapping hearts (above) or intertwined flowers, with best wishes inside like "Two hearts. One promise."
Since California and Massachusetts are the only states that officially recognize gay marriage, the language inside the cards is neutral, with no mention of wedding or marriage, making them also suitable for a commitment ceremony. Hallmark says the move is a response to consumer demand and not political pressure.
"It's our goal to be as relevant as possible to as many people as we can," Hallmark spokeswoman Sarah Gronberg Kolell said.
The associated press says the other greeting card leader, American Greetings Corp., says they have no plans to enter the market since they say their current cards are general enough to speak to a lot of different relationships.
Hallmark's new same sex marriage cards will evidently be sold across the country.
