It seems that David Beckham is feeling a bit shadowed by the Olympics and Michael Phelps' glory in all the gold medals. The Brit are sending him in to pick up the torch.

According to OutSports.com, Beckham will arrive in Beijing on the last day of the Olympics to kick a soccer ball into the crowd. He'll also symbolically pick up the torch and carry it to the next host city of London, England.

Could there be a feud brewing for the world's best athlete title? Becks is accused to getting all of the attention where pop culture and sports collide, but Michael Phelps is about to give him a run for his money.

Phelps will even make a trip to London to shoot some promos for the 2012 games before heading home after the Beijing games.
