Former Secretary of State Colin Powell shot down rumors on Wednesday that he was going to cross party lines to endorse Barack Obama for President.

Rumors were circulating through the media earlier in the day that Powell was going to endorse Obama and attend the Democratic National Convention later this month.

Conservative journalist William Kristo started the rumor once before, and it looks like that's where Colin Powell is pointing the finger.

"I do not have time to waste on Bill Kristol's musings. I am not going to the convention. I have made this clear."

A Powell endorsement would be HUGE for Barack Obama. The former Secretary of State is highly respected among Republicans and Independents.

I guess it just ain't gonna happen.... yet...
