The pets on our staff are still undecided, but nationally it looks like our four legged friends are leaning Republican this election year!

An AP-Yahoo News poll found that pet owners favor John McCain over Barack Obama 42 percent to 37 percent, with McCain leading for Best in Show among dog owners.

Dog owners in particular are leaning towards McCain according to the report. Worth adding, the McCain family has several pets - more than a dozen!

McCain's pets include Sam the English springer spaniel, Coco the mutt, turtles Cuff and Link, Oreo the black and white cat, a ferret, three parakeets, a bunch of saltwater fish and more!

On the flip side, non-pet owners are in Obama's corner by commanding numbers at 48 to 34 percent. The Obama family doesn't have any pets.

In this poll McCain comes out on top, especially since the majority of American homes have at least one pet.
