Sir Ian McKellen was one of thousands who turned up in London over the weekend for their annual gay pride parade.

London's gay pride celebration is the U.K.'s largest. This years theme was fairy tales, myths and legends. People lined the streets with vibrant colors and decadent costumes.

Mayor Boris Johnson led the parade but was booed at points accused of making anti-gay remarks in the past.

Gay pride planners projected at least 500,000 in attendance.
