Robert DeNiro wants Landmark board to save Greenwich Hotel penthouse

Robert DeNiro is trying to save his penthouse atop the Greenwich Hotel in Manhattan's TriBeCa neighborhood.
DeNiro's penthouse evidently wasn't a part of the original plan for the hotel which was built in 2004. Now he wants the Landmark Board to help him save the penthouse.
The posh penthouse perched on top of the trendy Greenwhich Hotel is worth millions of dollars. The hotel itself was built with the help of $38.5 million in tax-exempt Liberty Bond financing.
The tough guy actor even brought in his friend and neighbor actor Edward Burns to testify on his behalf.
"There is nothing offensive about that penthouse," he said.
The commission has decided to study the issue further and says they expect to reach a compromise with DeNiro.
