Barack Obama decided NOT to take the public funding for his campaign turning down $84 million.

Obama originally said that he would take the money if his opponent did, but now John McCain is already spending money raised by his campaign.

Obama critics are saying this is just another way for the presumptive Democratic nominee to say he will do one thing and actually do another.

Senator Obama said it was not an easy decision because he supports a robust system of public financing of elections. He blamed his change of mind on the system as it exists today calling it broken and saying that his opponents are masters of gaming the broken system.
