New York City investigating false positives on HIV test in clinics
New York City is investigating why 200+ people got false positive results on HIV tests in city clinics.
The New York Post is reporting that 213 were given false positive results after taking a mouth swab HIV test at clinics in NYC between last November and this past April.
Follow-up blood tests showed that these people were not HIV positive.
The city clinics say they have stopped using the OraSure rapid swab test after so many results were proven incorrect.
