Dish Network won't add gay employees to anti-discrimination clause

The shareholders at Dish Network evidently don't give a damn about the gays. They have decided that gays and lesbians should not be covered in their company's anti-discrimination clause.
At the company's annual meeting, the New York City Employees Retirement System which holds 533,032 shares proposed a resolution to add a clause in the company's equal-opportunity policy that would prohibit discrimination against gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender employees. More than 90 percent of voters rejected it.
"It needs to be clearly stated so employees understand they're protected," said Lewis Thomp son, a local representative for NYCERS. "We knew it was going to be rejected. . . . (Chairman and chief executive Charlie) Ergen owns 80 percent of the stock."
Executives at Dish Network said their LGBT employees are not discriminated against, so they claim this isn't really an issue and pointed out that they are doing the bare minimum as required by Federal law.
I love my Time Warner Cable. I even heard they're adding an all gay porn channel to their adult programming. Now, that's hot!
