"American Idol" is finally down to the final two. Syesha Mercado was given the boot as Ryan Seacrest announced the battle of the David's between David Archuleta and David Cook.

Seacrest announced that Archuleta was the first "American Idol" finalist, so I guess he is still getting all the votes with all the bad dad P.R. he's sucking up.

David Cook also had his fair share of support, the "Idol" auditorium erupted when Cook was announced as the other finalist.

The battle of the David's will take place next Tuesday night, and either Archuleta or Cook will be crowned "American Idol" next Wednesday night on Fox.
