Homophobic Pennsylvania State Senators try to ban all gay unions

Just when you think things are looking good for the gay community, one state is doing every thing it can to keep gay couples from getting the same rights as heterosexual couples.
Pennyslvania's State Senate could vote on a constitutional amendment later this week banning both civil unions and same sex marriages. Gay marriage is already banned in Pennyslvania, but this bill will take it a step further:
“No union other than a marriage between one man and one woman shall be valid or recognized as marriage or the functional equivalent of marriage by the commonwealth.”
There is still hope though. This bill has a long way to go before becoming law. It must be passed in two consecutive legislative sessions, and then it goes to voters who get the final say.
What is the world coming to?!
