Gay marriage becomes an election issue again

The California Supreme Court may have decided that gay couples should have the right to marry, but that doesn't stop discriminators and overly conservative Bible thumpers from trying to get a same sex marriage ban on the ballot.
Suddenly, gay marriage is an election issue again.
None of the viable candidates running for President support gay marriage. Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama support civil unions while John McCain has only said he doesn't support same sex nuptuals.
If California's voters decide to ban gay marriage, that will be the first state to do so after their Supreme Court found it unconstitutional.
This could sent it directly to the US Supreme Court and force a decision. I'm just not sure if that is good or bad.
The state-by-state gay marriage bans came after a rush for a decision. Conservatives got scared and pushed a ballot issue to ban same sex marriage in their state.
On a positive note, look what it did for California gays! They'll soon be able to tie the knot!
