Friday was the 'perfect storm' of politics

This presidential election is really starting to make my head hurt.

I feel like a hurricane hit the democratic process, and we're still cleaning up five years later.

A lot happened on Friday. Barack Obama picked up a lot of super delegates, Hillary Clinton gained support in the polls and John Edwards almost intentionally came one step short of endorsing Obama.

What does this all mean?

The root of all this evil stems from Michigan and Florida's decision to move their primary dates ahead of the infamous Super Duper Tuesday. What these two states did was wrong, but who are we to deny anyone their right to vote? When the Democratic National Committee decided to strip people in Michigan and Florida of their right to weigh in on this race, they crossed the line.

I have said it before, and I'll continue to say it. It would be extremely un-democratic to deny these people of their right to vote.

If we can just figure out a way to seat the delegates in Florida and Michigan that benefits everyone involved, then we can start making sense of who should be the nominee.

Again, I return to my plea for Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama to sit down together and decide how they're going to run together. That is the only way they're going to bring the democratic party, as we knew it before this election, back together.
