We've been waiting on this. Can someone give us a concrete date? When will the troops come home?

You might expect that Barack Obama would be the first candidate to set a date on when we might have our G.I.'s out of Iraq. Maybe Hillary Clinton? Nope, its the presumptive Republican nominee John McCain is the first candidate to somewhat set a deadline for troop withdrawl.

Senator McCain announced on Thursday that most American troops would be home from Iraq by 2013 and that the nation would have a functioning democracy under his presidency.

What in the world is going to happen if Barack Obama has to face off with John McCain in the general election? Obama has done so well in the Democratic primary, because he has said what everyone wants to hear. What will his strategy be if McCain beats him to the punch?

Senator McCain is basically saying that if we'll give him one term in the White House, he'll bring the troops home. His new strategy seems to be painting a picture of what the future would look like under a McCain presidency.

The big question is whether or not 2013 will appease the anti-war Democrats.
