Despite the fact that Gossip Girl isn't doing that well in the ratings this season, E! Online is reporting that CW has signed on for an extended season next year to make up for time missed during the writer's strike.

The news isn't official yet, but it is expected to drop at the CW's line-up announcement next week.

E! is also reporting that Gossip Girl will take viewers to the Hamptons at the beginning of season two.

Now they've even got a gay character, so it might be worth catching a re-run marathon and picking up with the second season!

Eye candy (Chace Crawford) and a gay story line. Gossip Girl is starting to sound good to me!
