AIDS Walk New York smashes previous records

Around 45,000 New Yorkers participated in the 23rd annual AIDS Walk on Sunday and raised a record $7 million!
That's amazing considering that the economy is on such a downhill slope. It is great to see that people still care enough to come up with money to pledge.
"New Yorkers stated loudly and clearly that the critical work of Gay Men's Health Crisis and more than the 50 other HIV/AIDS service organizations must be supported if we are to see an end to the domestic AIDS crisis," AIDS Walk founder and producer Craig R. Miller said.
According to AIDS Walk NY organizers, this event surged over the $100 million mark in raising funds for HIV/AIDS prevention and care in NYC and the tri-state area since the walk started in 1987. AIDS Walks across the country have raised over $300 million in total.
