At first I was really drawn to the story of Thomas Beatie, the first pregnant man. However, the more I learn - the less impressed I become with the whole situation.

Thomas Beatie was born a female with female reproductive organs. He was even once a beauty queen.

I understand that Beatie identifies as a man, but scientifically that doesn't make him the first pregnant man. Legally, Thomas is a man; but biologically he is not.

Mr. Beatie is actually a female who is mid-operation to become a male and has decided to stop the process to have a child.

His breasts have already been moved. With vagina and reproductive organs in tact, Beatie was able to become artificially inseminated and will be able to successfully carry out the pregnancy.

Don't get me wrong, I am very proud of Thomas Beaty for having a child with his wife Nancy. That's something they really wanted to do, and they might make wonderful parents. Thomas and Nancy seem like really great people.

I have to wonder why Thomas is turning himself into a freakshow! I can't help but wonder why he and Nancy decided to parade themselves around. I really don't why his story is getting so much attention. This publicity tour gives a false spin on Thomas' male pregnancy, and I can't imagine how hard this poor child's life is going to be.

He isn't going to shoot the baby out of his penis, people. Thomas has female parts. His has an oversized clitiris that looks like a small penis due to testosterone treatments.

Great job... an appearance on the Oprah Winfrey Show and a People exclusive. Is this what you have to do to get on Oprah? I am so not getting pregnant. I have enough weight issues as it is.

But I digress... The real story here is that a transgendered person who identifies as a man delayed his transformation from female to male so that he can carry a child as his wife can't. Not as ground breaking, huh?
