EXCLUSIVE: Marc Jacobs' new man speaks up, what's up with Austin A?
I recently had a very candid conversation with Austin A, the guy being tagged as Marc Jacob's new "boy toy." Much to my surprise, I discovered what seems to be an everyday gay just looking for fun and life-long happiness.
From the wild child Jason Preston to a wholesome and sweet Austin A... what's really going on?
To set the record straight: "I wouldn't say we're dating," Austin said. He told me that he really enjoys hanging out with Marc, but they aren't actually an exclusive couple. Austin says the media has really blown the whole thing out of proportion.
Marc, of course, is abroad working with Louis Vuitton; and Austin is currently in L.A. Austin says he spoke with Jacobs a few days ago but admits that they haven't been together since the infamous Los Angeles trip.
"The timing of that trip," Austin says, "was horrible." He says he and Marc met each other in New York but weren't ever spotted in public together. It wasn't until they went to L.A. that their relationship went public.
The weekend that Marc and Austin were spotted snuggling up in Cali was the same weekend that Jason Preston showed up at Hot Mess with Erik Rhodes. That was the night before Page Six broke the story of Jason and Marc's dramatic break-up.
Bam! Austin, who tells me he has always been attracted to older men, was thrust into the spotlight as Marc Jacob's new younger man.
As I said earlier, Austin and I spoke very candidly. He didn't seem to have anything to hide, and he told me that he is really interested in becoming a model.
He'll return to New York in May and is already booking jobs with his modeling agency. That's also when Marc Jacobs will return from Paris. I look forward to seeing whether or not there will be an Austin - Marc reunion.
Meanwhile, I'm sure Jason Preston is going to kill me on Sunday!
