Vivid Entertainment claims they have a sex tape starring Jimi Hendrix, and they're releasing it.

The Los Angeles-based adult entertainment company said they obtained the footage of the music legend shot in a hotel room about 40 years ago from a memorabilia collector.

The footage features Hendrix engaging in multiple sex acts with two unknown women, according to a statement released by Vivid Entertainment. The company said they talked with several experts to confirm that the video is authentic before making the deal.

Can you imagine what it took to shoot a sex tape back then? Was there a lighting crew and a sound guy there too? There weren't web cams and digital recorders floating around everywhere back then.

Hendrix died of a drug overdose in 1970. Seattle-based representatives for Hendrix's estate did not want to comment about the tape.

Vivid Entertainment was also responsible for the release of Pamela Anderson's sex tape and made big assed Kim Kardahsian famous with hers.
